About

NEW FEATURE: You can now cycle though the Aviator watch face presets on the fly using the new QuickChange feature. Read the "Whats New" section to see how! I find I am using this feature all the time. I think you will really like it. Apologies: This watch face is a big download (and just got a bit bigger) It will take around 10 minutes to download via bluetooth, updating your watch while connected to a computer is much faster. I do not like this and I have a few ideas how to shrink it, but until then please enjoy it as is. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * A handsome Aviator style watch face reminiscent of an analog altimeter. This bold watch face has large highly visible hands that help reading the time in dim light. It turns out that sometimes simple is better. Containing an unobtrusive step counter and battery meter that don't get in the way, this clean watch face has simple down cold. The red and white triangle indicates steps, once around reaches your step goal. The red triangle indicates the battery charge, 12:00 is 100%(full) counterclockwise to 6:00 is 0% (empty). The Yellow triangle is the GMT time, on some faces you will find a yellow pointer to help you find it quickly. The color inside of the triangle indicates AM/PM, white for AM and black for PM. The Green Diamond is a local time setting, the color inside indicates AM/PM in the same way as the GMT triangle. The Green text is a place to remind yourself what the local time zone is indicating. It can be any text you want. I use a city code, but you could spell out a city, use the actual time differential, use a word like HOME, or use a name. The local time zone will not adjust for DST. You can now cycle through the Aviator preset watchfaces, including your custom colored watchface, without needing to be online or using the ConnectIQ app. To do this, cycle to your widgets (up/down buttons) and back -- twice in under 3 seconds. the second time you return to your watch screen it will be set to the next preset watchface in the sequence. You may continue to cycle up and down and the watchface will change each time. (until you pause for 3 seconds) When you find the face you want, simply stop cycling and the face will remain. To use this feature, be sure to select Watchface QuickChange to ON in the ConnectIQ options menu. This style was suggested to me by another Fenix3 owner and I found I really loved it - so my thanks go out to N.K. *As a battery conservation limitation enforced by Garmin, the second hand can only stay active for 10 seconds at a time on some watches. Making a 'look at your watch' gesture will reactivate the seconds hand. The newer Garmin watches now allow for persistent second hands. Small ($1) PayPal tips are always welcome at [email protected] - But comments are even more appreciated. Drop me a line with any comments or suggestions you have, or let me know what your favorite color combinations are. Thanks!

What's new

v3.0 - BUGS: I have at least one Fenix3 user having crash to white-screen problems. If anyone else is having any issues please contact me at [email protected] to help me find this bug. Also, if everything is working great for you please drop me a line as well, I would love to hear what colors/configurations you are using. - Scroll in delay. The watch face displays only the face as it scrolls into view. The hands and remaining information is added shortly after pausing on the face. This both speeds up scrolling through the widgets/watchface as well as makes The New QuickChange feature operate smoother. - Added Green fade/glow and Orange watch faces. - Added 2 helicopter pins v2.1 - You may now select the face Quick Change option to On/Off from the ConnecIQ settings menu. The Default is set to Off. So if you have been using it, you will need to select it back to ON. This was done to prevent users that are unfamiliar with this feature from getting any unexpected watchface changes. v2.0 - You can now set :30 and :45 minute time zones, such as Adelaide at +9.5, sorry about that oversight. - I continue to hunt the GMT bug. I made some changes to the calculations, but I still need to test it out some more. - The Big update is that you can now cycle through the Aviator preset watchfaces, including your custom colored watchface, without needing to be online or using the ConnectIQ app. I made it this way so it will be difficult to accidentally change your watchface, yet still easy to do. - You no longer need to click a checkbox to activate all of the custom colors. Now simply select the "ENABLE ALL CUSTOM SETTINGS" item from the Pre-made faces menu box. The custom GMT and the GMT text selections will be used in all watchfaces that have it. Although I have made it look the same as the original Aviator watch, this is a complete internal rewrite of the watch. It now supports Garmin's latest OS upgrade and many of the new Garmin watches! The two big changes you will find are persistent second hands for the watches that support it, and complete control of the look of the face. You have to use the Garmin Connect App to change the settings, you can not change them directly from the watch. Find your way on GarminConnect to 'More' (bottom right, might be hiding under the syncing banner) / Garmin Devices / (your watch) / ConnectIQ Apps / Watch Faces / (this Aviator watchface) / Settings. There you will find options to change almost everything about the face. There are four pre-set configurations including the Original Black face, the alternate White face, a classy new faded Blue face, and a bold red face. IMPORTANT: To access full control of the settings, select the check box to disable the premade faces (don't forget to un-select the check box if you want to select the premade faces again) Once done scroll to the bottom to find the SAVE command. The increased color capability of Garmin's newest watches makes the faded color faces look particularly good. Note: If you have trouble updating this watch face, try selecting a watch face other than the Aviator2 before updating the Aviator2. v1.1 - added the D2 Charlie
