The Data Field has been designed to help you manage completion of a Backyard event. The Data Field will track and predict your progress on each loop/yard, this will help manage your time and pace, with the completed number of loops/yards. The layout will adapt to fit the screen space, showing a combination of the data values.
The following data values are provided:
- Intelligent: Use the best field, based on your performance and lap time or position, where only a single one is displayed
- Loop Count: Number of completed loops/yards
- Loop Distance: The current distance covered within the loop/yard
- Loop Time: The current time elapsed within the loop/yard
- Remaining Distance: The remaining distance within the loop/yard
- Remaining Time: The remaining time within the loop/yard
- Predicted Time: The predicted or estimated time to complete the current loop/yard
- Predicted Gap: The predicted or estimated gap at the end of the current loop/yard
- Loop Pace: The current pace on the loop - excludes waiting time.
- Pacer: Set distance on which your progress is checked. After the first loop/yard, the difference is displayed; the first lap displays pace.
The display will show, upto three lines of data (depending on screen size). These are:
- Line 1: Loops Completed. When back at the start, the number is surrounded by colons.
- Line 2: Distance Remaining and Time Elapsed. When back at the start the current clock time and remaining time to next loop.
- Line 3: Loop Pace and Predicted Time. When back at the start the Last Loop and Average Loop Time.
When the Data Field starts, it will wait for the first lap to get started. On the UI the values will also been marked as red, amber or green, if they need to be given attention.
A progress bar will show:
- During the loop, your progress (green), time (orange). To be successful, you need to keep the green line ahead of the orange one! The pacer locations, and status (red ahead, blue behind) are also shown.
- After the loop, the remaining wait time (in orange) is shown.
The Data Field can be configured to:
- Loop Distance: The length in metres of each loop/yard. The default is 6,706 metres or 4.167 miles, the standard for a Backyard.
- Loop Time: The time in minutes of each loop/yard. The default is 60 minutes, the standard for a Backyard.
- Calculation Mode: Average: is best for activities with a constant pace; Current: works well where your pace changes constantly; Recent: is designed for when your pace slows or increases over the distance.
- Display Units: The units to display, as either Metric or Imperial. Default is your system units.
- Display Mode: The primary data field to show, where limited to a single field.
- FIT Recording: Pick if you would like to record the backyard data to the saved FIT file.
- Vibrate Mode: Either off, or alert on completing a loop/yard and a reminder when the next loop/yard is to start.
