About

NavSync is a Connect IQ data field for fēnix 7X that reliably transfers the current activity GPS track and navigation summary to the companion Android NavSync app over Bluetooth Low Energy. During an activity, the watch keeps a bounded GPS track cache using a watchdog-safe incremental storage design. A Lap-key press starts a short synchronization session: the watch scans for the Android companion, connects, sends navigation information, current position and only unconfirmed track points, waits for the application-level durable-storage acknowledgement, then disconnects. Unconfirmed points remain on the watch and are retried on the next sync. Watch data transferred to Android includes activity distance, remaining navigation distance when available, current elevation, total ascent, total descent, activity timer, current GPS position and the cached activity track. The data field also shows transfer state, pending points, previous transfer points, total sent points and cache size. The Android companion provides offline Mapsforge vector maps, GPX/FIT route import, route matching and route-type detection, received-track display, two-point/three-point trajectory analysis, return-distance calculation, elevation information, phone/watch GPS markers and detailed receive statistics. Android v4.1.1 uses compact color-grouped HUD metrics, solid RGB route colors, a triangular watch-position marker, overlap-aware route widths and high-contrast bidirectional direction arrows. Important: • A compatible Android phone with the NavSync companion APK is required for BLE synchronization. • The Connect IQ component is a data field; add it to an activity data screen before use. • Connect IQ does not expose native Course geometry to data fields. Route geometry displayed on Android comes from the route imported on the phone; the watch transfers activity/navigation summary plus the activity GPS track. • The Lap key is used to trigger synchronization because Connect IQ data fields cannot intercept the LIGHT/backlight key. Pressing Lap also creates a real activity lap. • Phone and watch components should use matching protocol versions. Designed for users who need an offline, inspectable and recoverable watch-to-phone track workflow without continuous BLE scanning.

What's new

v4.1.1 • Reworked Android HUD color grouping: transfer distance is white; track/straight distance and the track map line share one color; navigation/return distance and the navigation map line share one color; route classification has its own color. • Restored the complete Chinese labels for transfer, track, navigation, straight-line and return distance. • W:GPS and P:GPS now show the actual watch/phone position-fix time in HH:mm:ss format instead of BLE transfer timing. • Fixed bottom navigation icon/text clipping by increasing vertical room and adjusting drawable/text padding. • Consolidated display, marker and direction controls into one Interface Settings screen under the Map menu; removed duplicate style entries from Route and Watch menus. • Removed navigation/track gradient-color settings and gradient route rendering. Navigation and received-track routes now use single RGB colors matching their HUD metrics. • Changed the watch-position marker from a round W ball to a high-contrast triangular pointer. • Added overlap-aware line widths: analysis is widest, navigation is medium, received track is narrowest when routes substantially overlap. • Redesigned direction arrows with glow, dark outline, bright core and double chevrons. Retraced/out-and-back routes alternate forward/reverse arrows in display order. • Retains v3.0.9 receive statistics/live transfer progress, v3.0.8 trajectory-analysis index protection and v3.0.7 activity/cache recovery protections. • Rebuilt fēnix 7X PRG and Store IQ using the full Connect IQ 9.2.0 SDK chain with official api.mir/api.db and the supplied developer key. • Connect IQ application ID changed for v4.1.1 as requested. BLE wire protocol remains v9 and metadata remains v13.
