About
PCH Alert is a cycling data field for Garmin Edge devices that helps riders monitor Power, Cadence, and Heart Rate during rides.
It is designed for riders who want simple, fast, and repeatable alerts while training or racing. The field displays power clearly and provides sound alerts when configured thresholds are reached.
Power alert response uses a fixed 1-second power value for quick reaction. Display power smoothing can be selected separately from 1, 3, 10, or 30 seconds. This allows the rider to keep alert response fast while choosing a smoother or more responsive display.
The data field can also alert when cadence drops below a set threshold while power is above a selected gate value. Heart rate alerts are also supported.

Display
The main display shows Power / Lap Average or Power / W/kg.
The top information row shows enabled alert items, app label text, and the current display average with the right-side display mode, such as 3s/Lap or 30s/Wkg.
Alert Behavior
Power alerts use a fixed 1-second power value for fast response.
Display Power Avg only changes the displayed power smoothing. It does not change the power alert response.
Recommended threshold order:
P1 should be lower than P2, P2 should be lower than P3, and P3 should be lower than P4.
If thresholds are set out of order, higher-priority alert levels may override lower-priority levels.
Notes
After changing settings, reload the data field or stop and restart the activity to ensure the new settings are applied.
This data field uses the standard activity data provided by the Garmin device, such as power, cadence, heart rate, and lap data. It does not require an ANT+ profile setting.
