The phone does the work in the background: it runs its own Matter controller on your home network, so a press on your wrist reaches the light even while the phone is locked and sitting in your bag. No cloud relay is involved in switching a device — the command goes from the watch to the phone over Bluetooth, then straight to the device over your Wi-Fi. WORKS WITH YOUR EXISTING SETUP Your devices stay paired to your existing smart home app exactly as they are. The companion app adds a second, independent connection just for the watch — your automations, voice assistants and widgets keep working untouched. Nothing has to be reset or re-added.
