DotMatrix Battery Saver

About
Sleek. Minimalist. Uncompromising on Battery Life.
DotMatrix AOD is an ultra-low-profile, retro-modern watch face designed specifically to maximize battery efficiency on Garmin AMOLED displays without sacrificing style. By utilizing a high-density, bold dot-matrix typography, it illuminates only the essential pixels, keeping your watch running longer.
Eco-Dimming & Ultra-Low AOD Footprint
When your watch enters Always-On Display (AOD) / sleep mode, all secondary data fields completely fade away, leaving only the essential clock. Control your power draw with the AOD Brightness profile configuration:
Bright: Renders the default bold, multi-dot style for high legibility.
Medium (Eco): Drops layout density to a single dot per pixel, reducing active clock pixels during sleep by 75%.
Stealth: Combines single-dot rendering with an ultra-dim gray shade to yield the absolute lowest pixel current draw possible.
Advanced Burn-In Protection
Engineered for premium AMOLED panels, Dot Time AOD features active, sub-pixel grid shifting every minute in sleep mode. This distributes screen wear dynamically, keeping your display healthy and pristine for years.
Awake Mode Features
When you lift your wrist, the watch face instantly wakes up to present essential data fields in a clean, spaced layout:
Custom Colorways: Choose from 10 distinct retro-LED profiles (Electric Blue, Vibrant Green, Pulse Red, Neon Orange, Classic White, Modern Purple, Hot Pink, Bright Yellow, Sleek Gray, and Royal Blue).
Vector Battery Gauge: A clean, custom battery icon that dynamically shifts colors based on charge.
Configurable Secondary Field: Personalize the bottom-right module with dynamic vector icons to track your metrics:
Steps (with a sleek running figure icon)
Heart Rate (real-time BPM with a pulse red heart)
Calories Burned (flame icon)
Distance in Kilometers or Miles (location-pin icon)
Floors Climbed (staircase icon)
Clean Calendar Row: View the weekday and date on top, positioned perfectly to prevent overlaps.
Customization Settings
Clock Color: Choose your signature style when active (10 options).
Time Format: Force 12-hour (automatically hiding cosmetic leading zeros), force 24-hour, or respect your watch's default system settings.
Bottom Right Field: Choose which fitness metric to track.
AOD Brightness: Select your low-power dimming profile (Bright, Medium, Stealth).
Super Lightweight: Built with extreme optimization—no heavy background processes, minimal CPU usage, and highly responsive transitions.

What's new
New AOD Brightness & Eco-Dimming Profiles: Introduced a dedicated setting for low-power state control, allowing users to switch from standard bold dot configurations to a single-dot Medium profile (75% power reduction) or a dark gray Stealth profile for maximal battery preservation.
Expanded Colorways: Increased customization options from 6 to 10 custom retro-LED profiles (adding Hot Pink, Bright Yellow, Sleek Gray, and Royal Blue).
Miles Support for Distance: Added the ability to choose Miles (mi) as your secondary metric, automatically converting Garmin's raw sensors from centimeters/kilometers to formatted miles.
Configurable Secondary Field Expansion: Enhanced the bottom-right module to support not just steps, but also Heart Rate (BPM), Calories, Distance (km/mi), and Floors Climbed, all accompanied by custom vector-drawn icons.
Intelligent 12-Hour Leading Zero: Revamped the clock logic so that when the watch is configured to 12-Hour mode, the cosmetic leading zero automatically hides (showing 8:30 instead of 08:30) to look cleaner, while 24-Hour mode retains the standard leading zero.
Under-the-Hood Type Coercion Fixes: Patched setting retrieval routines to handle safe type conversions (preventing properties stored as strings in simulator updates from reverting the clock format to 00:11 at midnight).
