NORD Ring - Pixel time on rings

NORD Ring tells the time with two dotted rings and three small squares. Nothing else is drawn. The rings are not decoration. Each one is a reserve, and how big it is IS the reading: a full ring sits out at the bezel, an empty one has pulled right in to the middle. Then the time rides on them. HOW TO READ IT - The OUTER ring is the watch's battery. The square on it is the minute. - The INNER ring is your Body Battery. The square on it is the hour. - The diamond in the middle is the centre, and the NORD mark. Long hand outside, short hand inside - the same way round as any dial you have ever read. The minute square travels the long way round because that is where the room is, and the hour square creeps along the inner ring exactly as a short hand does. Glance at it and you have the time. Look for half a second longer and you also know how much charge the watch has and how much you have. THE THREE MARKS The hour square is coloured half way between the diamond and the minute square, so the three read as one gradient outward from the middle. BESIDE EACH SQUARE A small figure - the hour, the minute - sits next to its square. It goes inside the ring where there is room and outside where there is not, so it never lands on top of anything. You can have the squares and the figures, the squares alone, or the figures alone. And the dotted rings can be switched off entirely, which leaves three marks floating on an empty dial. That is the quietest the face gets, and it still tells the time. EIGHT THEMES - Dis, Skog, Glöd, Grafit - tinted grounds, cool haze to forest to ember - Svart - white on black - Korall, Lagun, Malva - coral on slate, amber on deep teal, cream on mauve DETAILS - Always-on is the same face, dimmed, and nothing is hidden at night. Measured on a fenix 8 it lights 1.1% of the screen against the 10% an AMOLED allows, and no pixel stays lit long enough to mark the panel. On memory-in-pixel watches the face simply stays. - The figures are digits, so there is nothing to translate. It reads the same in every language. - 12- or 24-hour, following your watch's own setting. - 98 Garmin watches, round and rectangular, from 240 pixels upward. The layout is redrawn for each screen size rather than scaled. SETTINGS - Colour theme - Marks: squares and figures, squares only, or figures only - Show rings Body Battery needs a watch that records it. If it is missing, the inner ring simply follows the watch's battery instead of claiming a number it does not have. ABOUT Hi! This is my fourth watch face. It started as a question: if a ring has to have a size anyway, why not let the size mean something? I'm from Sweden, currently working at Mojang (the creator of Minecraft) and I train a lot, including running, which got me into designing and developing a bit nerdy styled watch faces that I wanted myself.
