About

Public Beta Testing Release - Enhanced Graphical Display -- This is the graphical beta version of the dual energy system W'balance tracker, featuring comprehensive real-time visualization capabilities alongside numerical displays. What This Beta Offers This version builds upon the core physiological modeling with advanced graphical features: Real-Time Chart Visualization: -- Live tracking of both energy systems with historical trend lines Configurable time windows (1-5 minutes) for optimal data perspective Auto-scaling Y-axis with intelligent range adjustment Grid overlay for easier value reading Customizable line thickness and colors -- Multiple Display Modes: Numerical displays (alactic only, glycolytic only, both vertical/horizontal) Chart-only mode for pure graphical analysis All modes show current percentage values Note: This is a beta release. Please report any issues or suggestions for improvement! _ Quick Guide to W'bal Model Setup 1. Mode Selection: Preset Mode: The fastest way to get started. Choose a profile that matches your style: Time Trial: For sustained, steady power. Universal: A balanced profile for most athletes. Pursuit: For variable paces and repeated accelerations. Sprinter: For short, explosive bursts. Advanced Settings Mode: For manually entering parameters based on individual test results. _ 2. Parameter Setup: For an accurate setup, perform the testing protocol (see section 3) and enter the calculated values. Main Parameters: CP (Watts): Critical Power (your aerobic threshold). GP (Watts): Glycolytic Power (usually higher than CP). W' Alactic (Joules): Your "sprint" buffer for efforts up to 30s. W' Glycolytic (Joules): Your buffer for anaerobic efforts of 2-3 min. Recovery & Depletion Dynamics: Alactic Recovery τ (def: 60s): "Sprint" recovery speed. Glycolytic Recovery τ (def: 240s): Anaerobic endurance recovery speed. Max Alactic Rate (def: 1000 J/s): The limit on how fast the alactic buffer can be used (use your max 10-15s power as a guide). ATP-PCr Burst Duration (def: 0s): A "head start" for the alactic system at the beginning of a burst - Display Mode Choose how to view your energy system data: Alactic Only - Shows only ATP-CP system percentage Glycolytic Only - Shows only lactate system percentage Both Horizontal - Side-by-side display of both systems Chart Only - Full-screen graphical view with trend lines Color Settings Alactic & Glycolytic Color: Blue, Red, Green, Pink, System Text - Chart Time Window Sets how much historical data appears on the chart: AUTO (Smart) - Intelligently adjusts window (90-240 seconds) based on your power output and W'bal change rate. Zooms in during intense intervals, zooms out during steady efforts (recommended) 1 min - Best for short, intense intervals; shows rapid changes 2-3 min - Balanced view for most training scenarios 4-5 min - Ideal for longer steady-state efforts or threshold work - Chart Mode Controls which energy system(s) appear as lines on the chart: Alactic only - Single line showing ATP-CP system Glycolytic only - Single line showing lactate system Both systems - Overlaid lines for both systems (recommended) - Line Thickness Adjusts the thickness of chart lines: Thin - Minimal visual weight, less screen obstruction Normal - Balanced visibility (recommended) Thick - Maximum visibility in bright sunlight or at a glance - Show Grid On-Off Displays horizontal reference lines at 25%, 50%, and 75% on the chart. Helps estimate values at a glance during rides. - Auto Scale Y-axis On-Off When enabled, the chart automatically zooms to fit your current data range: ON - Chart adjusts to show detail in your actual range (e.g., if you're between 60-95%, it zooms to that range) OFF - Chart always shows full 0-100% scale __ 3.
