GAP - Grade-Adjusted Pace
· v1.1.1
About
Powered by runningwithpower.com, GAP is a data field that estimates your grade-adjusted pace, following the model published by the strava developers (see reference below).
It integrates seamlessly into your existing activity profiles. You can choose between displaying either the current GAP, the one of the current lap, or the total average. All information is also saved to ConnectIQ. If you want to save battery, you can switch on the battery-saving mode. In this case, the displayed value is updated only every few seconds.
I hope you enjoy it!
Side notes:
- Please note that the accuracy, as well as the speed of adaptation during incline changes, is limited by the quality of your watch's altimeter. Although the data field contains an algorithm that aims to correct erroneous behavior, corresponding lags and errors will still often propagate to the GAP result.
- Although the GAP model is based on the one published by strava, I can't promise identical results.
- You'll probably notice that the resulting GAP graph in ConnectIQ is schematically different from the one of the normal pace. It seems that third-party developers don't have access to the pace-plotting style. So it's in floating-point numbers (e.g., 6.5 means 6:30), and lower points in the graph correspond to a faster pace.
