Power Nap Auto-Wake
· v1.0.2
About
Power Nap Auto-Wake detects when you fall asleep and wakes you after a set nap duration. No manual alarm setup needed. Start the app, lie down, and it handles the rest.
The app reads your heart rate and wrist movement to identify sleep onset. When your heart rate drops below your personal baseline and your wrist stays still for at least 3 minutes, the nap timer starts. At the end of your nap, a gradual haptic alarm brings you up slowly.
Features:
- Set nap duration on the watch from 5 to 120 minutes
- 2-minute calibration builds a personal heart rate baseline
- Sleep onset requires confirmed HR drop and sustained low motion,
reducing false starts
- Smart Wake Window: in the final 5 minutes, the app checks for lighter
sleep signals and can fire early at a more natural moment
- Alarm escalates from barely perceptible taps to firm buzzes over
roughly 90 seconds
- Post-nap summary shows sleep time, efficiency rating, average HR,
and minimum HR
Configurable via Garmin Connect companion app:
- Nap duration (5 to 120 min, in 5-minute steps)
- Alarm type: vibration, tone, or both
- HR drop threshold (3 to 20 BPM)
- Motion sensitivity (low, medium, high)
All data stays on the watch. Heart rate and motion data are processed
in memory only and discarded when the session ends.
What's new
- Fixed crash when alarm fires in DND/Sleep mode
- Improved sleep detection: lower HR threshold (5 BPM), faster immobility detection (2 min)
- Smoother motion detection (windowed average, no more false resets from micro-movements)
- Pre-tracks stillness during calibration for faster sleep onset detection
- Protected against sensor, timer, and storage failures on all supported devices
- 71 unit tests (22 new)
