About

One rule, read from both sides. Minutes run above it on a scale of sixty, hours below it on a scale of twenty-four. Neither is spelled out large. Each is a marker on its own band with a small number beside it, the way a drafting scale or a vernier is read. The 24-hour band is what makes it work: position alone tells you morning from evening, so nothing needs an AM or PM, and the hour never competes with the minute for the middle of the dial. The hour marker carries its minutes, so it creeps along the band rather than jumping on the hour. The minute marker carries the accent. There are eight to pick from, each tuned twice - once for the off-white theme and once for true black. What you can change: - Theme: off-white or true black - Accent: eight colours for the minute marker - Minute scale: every minute, or fifths only - Numbers beside the markers, on or off - Date: eight formats, from WED 12 AUG through AUGUST 12 and WEDNESDAY to no date at all - Two data fields, above and below: steps, heart rate, Body Battery, stress, calories, watch battery, or nothing Settings are available in Garmin Connect and on the watch itself, from the watch face's own settings menu. Always-on is supported. The face dims and shifts slowly in that state to protect the display. A field shows a dash where the watch does not report that metric. Body Battery and stress are not available on every model. Typefaces: EB Garamond — Copyright 2017 The EB Garamond Project Authors (https://github.com/octaviopardo/EBGaramond12).
