A calorie estimate built on your pulse under-credits a loaded carry, and the gap grows with the weight, the hills, and your fitness: a trained heart rate barely lifts. RuckTrack puts the weight you carry, the terrain, and the grade into the calorie math, so the number counts the load, not just your heart rate. Whether you ruck, walk in a weighted vest, or hike under a loaded pack, indoors or out. THE CALORIE MATH COUNTS WHAT YOU CARRY RuckTrack uses the Pandolf equation, the load-carriage model validated by U.S. Army research, to calculate calories from the weight you carry, your speed, the terrain grade, and the surface underfoot: Road, Gravel, Trail, Sand, or Snow. Built for loaded hikes, vest walks, tabbing, and GORUCK events. SEVEN SCREENS. ONE SWIPE APART. Clean, high-contrast, nothing to squint at: - Distance, time, calories, and a real-time HR zone arc gauge - Current and average pace, elevation gain, and vertical speed - Calories: total burn, avg rate, and the percentage your pack or vest adds - Lap tracking with auto-laps at every mile or kilometer - HR zones: the zone you are in right now, no math needed - Time of day, date, and battery - Overview: every key number on one screen, no swiping needed START IN SECONDS QuickLoad gets you moving: your last weight, a saved preset, or a custom one. Start before GPS locks. TREADMILL RUCKS AND VEST WALKS Two indoor modes. Auto scales the watch's heart-rate calorie estimate by your pack or vest weight. In Manual you set the incline and either type the belt speed or let a paired foot pod (like Stryd) feed live pace, and RuckTrack runs the full Pandolf math. A Pace screen shows pace, speed, and incline, so intervals need no buttons. Save it as a Walk or a Ruck. Outdoors it uses whatever pod your watch does. AUTO-LAP EVERY MILE OR KILOMETER Splits fire automatically: a short haptic and a 3-second summary at every marker. Manual laps via BACK. Toggle off in Settings. AUTO-PAUSE WHEN YOU STOP Auto Pause pauses at a crosswalk or light and resumes when you walk on, so stops don't skew pace or time. Off by default, outdoor only, and quick to resume if GPS drops under trees. POST-ACTIVITY SUMMARY Distance, time, pace, and calories with burn rate and pack bonus. A Volume page: the weight you carried times how far you went. Elevation chart and HR zone breakdown. Press the action button for Calorie Details: pack bonus in kcal and percent, plus every number behind it. LIFETIME STATS, STREAKS, AND BESTS Lifetime distance, time, calories, and tonnage, plus your weekly streak and best pace at each pack weight. One session a week keeps the streak alive. Instinct 3 Solar and Instinct E omit the Stats, History, and Calorie Details screens. MORE STATS IN GARMIN CONNECT Outdoor sessions save as Rucking with names like "Ruck 35 lb", not just another Hike. Under Stats, in the Connect IQ section, every session carries Ruck Calories, Calories Without Pack, Pack Calorie Bonus, Burn Rate, Terrain Surface, and Pack Weight. Grade and Metabolic Rate chart second by second, so you can see which hills cost you. RUNS ON YOUR GARMIN Runs on fēnix, epix Pro, Forerunner, Venu, MARQ, Instinct, and more. Every screen is drawn for your watch's display, not stretched from a bigger one. Ad-free, no tracking, no account. The math runs on your watch. RuckTrack draws its own screens, so it does not show the Garmin map. Want the map? PackCal, our companion, runs inside Garmin's own Hike (not Approach, Descent, D2 or MARQ) and counts your pack there: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/809c953d-9547-49d3-9949-c27ad3a5c218 Calorie math, FAQ, and support: https://meridian-apps.github.io/rucktrack-docs/

What's new

RuckTrack counts the weight on your back, the terrain, and the grade in your calorie math, using the Pandolf load-carriage equation. Outdoor, treadmill, or weighted vest, with or without GPS. Nothing leaves your watch. v2.8.7 Treadmill foot pod fix: a "no foot pod" note no longer appears during rest intervals or before you start the belt, when your speed is briefly zero. v2.8.6 Stability fix: a rare crash on the smallest Instinct watches (Instinct 3 Solar, Instinct E) is gone. No other watch was affected. v2.8.5 Treadmill foot pod support: in Manual treadmill mode, take live speed from a paired foot pod like Stryd instead of the belt speed you type in, so interval workouts need no mid-session changes. Choose your speed source when you set up Manual mode. Off by default. Treadmill Pace screen: watch your current pace and speed, your incline, and your average pace as you go. v2.8.0 Auto Pause: your ruck now pauses automatically when you stop and resumes when you move again, so a wait at a crosswalk or light no longer skews your pace and time. It is a toggle, off by default, outdoor only, and quick to resume if GPS drops under trees. Earlier: treadmill Walk or Ruck type, the all-in-one Overview screen, lifetime Stats and pack presets, and more supported watches.
