Unlike apps and widgets, it does not appear on the watch menu after you download it. Instead, it can be added to native apps. The procedure may change from device to device, so check the manual to be sure. In general, it should be something like this: - Open an activity (e.g. "Run") - Press and hold the MENU/UP button to open the menu - Choose "Run Settings" - Choose "Data screens" - Choose "Screen 1" - Chose "Edit data fields" - Choose the first field - Choose "Connect IQ" - Choose "DFB" . ______ How to open the settings ______ To configure a data field, you can use the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your phone or the Garmin Express on your computer. Using your phone: - Open the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your phone - Look for "Garmin Devices" on the main menu; - Choose your device - Then "Connect IQ Apps" - Then data fields - Then Data Field Builder - Then Settings . ________ How to use the settings _________ All these items can be added to your screen: 1. Altitude 2. Average cadence 3. Average heart rate 4. Average pace 5. Average power 6. Average speed 7. Calories 8. Current cadence 9. Current heart rate 10. Current pace 11. Current power 12. Current speed 13. Elapsed distance 14. Timer time 15. Total ascent 16. Total descent 17. Time of day 18. Battery level 19. Notification count You can add as many items as you wish, but you have to add ONE BY ONE. For each item you can choose its position (horizontal and vertical), its size, and whether its label should be hidden or displayed. For example, let's say you want to show the current speed on the center of the screen, very big, without its label. Then choose: - Edit this item: "Current speed" - Horizontal position: "50%" - Vertical position: "50%" - Size: "7" - Show label: "No" Then click DONE (!!!!!!). You should see a number corresponding to the current speed on the center of the screen. KEEP IN MIND: you must click DONE each time you change the settings for ONE FIELD. Then, if you want to add another field, you must open the settings again and change the fields "Edit this item", "Horizontal position", "Vertical position", "Size", "Show label". Just a remark: the vertical position is measured from top to bottom (i.e.: 0% = topmost position). . _______ The configuration code _______ The settings for all fields (position, size, etc.) are stored in the configuration code. I do not recommend to change it manually. Once you are happy with the screen that you have created, it is a VERY GOOD IDEA to save it somewhere (e.g. copy and send it to yourself via e-mail). This is how you can restore all settings at once. That may be necessary if you uninstall the app or if it is updated. To reuse a valid configuration code which you have previously saved, just replace the one in "--- Config. code ---" by it. .
