When you raise your wrist, a full-screen northern-lights scene comes to life. Gentle camera movements glide across the night sky, slowly zooming into the glowing green and violet colors and back out again. This makes the aurora feel alive without becoming restless or distracting. When your arm is lowered, Polarlicht Pro uses Garmin’s low-power mode. The animation fades out, and the watch displays the time and date on a reduced, deep-black screen. This helps protect battery life and the AMOLED display while remaining easy to read. You can switch directly on the watch between two display styles: Digital — large, clear time display with date Analog — classic hands over the aurora scene, including a red second hand To switch between analog and digital mode, press and hold the display. The time, date and hands use a subtle shadow, keeping them readable even over the brighter areas of the aurora. Polarlicht Pro includes freely configurable complications. At the top of the screen, it displays location-based sunrise and sunset times together with the current battery level. Along the lower edge, up to four data fields can be arranged on a subtle arc. Each position can display: • Heart rate • Steps • Notifications • Weather and temperature • No data Each field can be configured independently or left empty. The curved arrangement follows the shape of the round display and keeps the central area clear for the time and aurora scene. In low-power mode, Polarlicht Pro also shows a reduced information bar with heart rate, notifications and battery level. The layout remains deliberately simple and power-efficient. Polarlicht Pro was developed specifically for round Garmin AMOLED displays. The animation is rendered directly on the watch in full resolution and uses the entire watch-face area.
