Ámbar
· v1.3.1
About
Ámbar is a retro digital face built around one idea: a liquid-crystal display
that behaves like the real thing. Every digit and letter is drawn by our own
segment engine as true seven-segment and fourteen-segment shapes, with the
small gaps at the joints and the slight italic lean of a real LCD module. The
unlit segments stay faintly visible on the panel — the ghosting that gives a
real LCD its depth — and you can switch that off if you prefer a clean panel.
The module sits inset in a dark case ring with printed minute marks, like a
tool watch holding an LCD block.
Features
- A real segment engine: seven-segment digits and fourteen-segment letters,
drawn with joint gaps and an 8-degree italic lean
- Ghost segments: the unlit segments show faintly, like a real LCD panel, with
a switch to turn the effect off
- 12 color themes in two families: bright panels with dark ink, and backlight
panels with glowing ink — the amber default gives the face its name
- Three data slots, each with 8 sources: steps, heart rate, Body Battery,
watch battery, calories, distance, floors, stress — or empty
- Day of the week and the date in segment type across the top, with three date
forms: automatic, day and month, or month and day
- Status marks for phone connection, alarm, notifications and do-not-disturb,
with a switch to hide them
- A ten-segment battery bar that turns to the alert color under 20 percent,
with a switch to hide it
- Seconds beside the minutes while the screen is awake, with a switch
- Always-on ready: dim segment digits on a black screen, drawn to keep an
AMOLED screen safe
- Reads sensors once a minute and redraws from what it kept, to save battery
- Four languages: English, Spanish, German and French
- 12-hour or 24-hour time and your distance units follow the watch settings
The face never shows a blank field: a reading your watch cannot give draws as
"--".
Every store picture is a real screenshot from the simulator. The face on your
wrist looks like the face in these images.
Settings
Open the Connect app, pick your device, then go to Connect IQ Apps, then
Watch Faces, then Ámbar, then Settings. There you choose the theme, the three
data slots,
the date format, and the switches for the ghost segments, the seconds, the
battery bar and the status marks. Every change applies right away. There is
no need to reinstall the face.
