Drink Counter
· v1.0
About
A quiet tally for a night out. Open it, see how many you have had, add one in two presses, and close it again. Nothing ever leaves your watch.
WHAT IT DOES
Your session total fills the screen the moment the app opens, and is counted out around the bezel as a ring of tick marks — one mark per drink, twelve to a lap. Finish a lap and it stays on screen in its own colour while the next lap draws over the top, so you can read roughly where you are at a glance without reading a number at all. Underneath the total sits a small icon of whatever you logged last.
Log a drink in six categories: Beer, Wine, Shot, Cocktail, Hard Seltzer and Other. The summary screen keeps the per-category breakdown, titled with the time your session started. Undo the last drink if you press one by mistake. Start a new session when the night is over.
It survives closing and reopening. The session is written to the watch after every change, so nothing is lost if you back out of the app or the battery dies.
WHAT IT DELIBERATELY DOES NOT DO
No blood alcohol estimate. No sobriety guess. No advice about whether you are fit to drive — never use this app, or any app, to make that decision.
No games, no streaks, no badges, no rewards for drinking more. The ring is a tally, not a goal. There is no empty ring waiting to be filled, nothing that ever "completes", and nothing happens when a lap turns over beyond the next mark arriving in a different colour. The colours cool down as the night goes on rather than getting louder, and after a while they stop changing altogether.
No accounts. No analytics. No advertising. No location. No network access of any kind.
COUNTS, NOT MEASURES
A count is only a count. A small pour and a large one both add one, because the watch has no way to know which you had. These are not standard drinks, and they are not a measure of anything except how many times you pressed the button.
CONTROLS
Add a drink — START, or tap the counter
Session summary — UP or DOWN, or swipe up or down
Options: undo, new session, about — MENU, or tap the summary
Back — BACK, or swipe right
On watches with no menu button, the summary screen is the way in to undo, new session and about.
Adding a drink is never confirmed, because that would make the common case slow. Starting a new session always is, because it is the one action that throws anything away.
PRIVACY
Everything stays on the watch. The app requests zero permissions, has no network access, and has no way to send anything anywhere. There is no account, no sign-in, and nothing to delete but the app itself.
