Pro Treks Tide

About
I found nice watches with the exact same screen size than Fenix X/Tactix, this is the right size, they look good and render perfectly on the Fenix X/Tactix.
If you like my work and would like to offer me a coffe, please do at https://ko-fi.com/svenlivonas
Thank you!
For a better look, there are additional colors available, there are 64 by default, this watch face has 77.
Everything is designed for minimum and optimized battery consumption, the second hand can be permanently active, when an API key is set to get tide times there is only one web request per day.
Most of the settings are defined in the watch.
The only settings on the phone are the Storm Glass API key which is too long to enter on the watch, and the second time zone.
On device menus require the touch screen for color selection, text entry, dates, coordinates (latitude/longitude).
Three user configurations can be saved. Each configuration saves the Face, Flavor, Options, Colors.
The watch manages tides, based on a UTC high tide reference date, or on Storm Glass data with the latitude and longitude of the tide location to be displayed.
The date-based tide calculation is approximate and should not be used for any navigational or safety-related activity. It is only sufficient to know when to go swimming or angling. The accuracy is plus or minus 2 hours, sometimes even three hours, and completely depends on the date you set.
When an API key is given, the tide calculation is based on the Storm Glass site data. The keys are free for 10 requests per day. This is enough as the watch makes one request per day, plus one request each time the latitude or longitude is changed.
Three sets of parameters can be recorded for the tides, which record the name of the port, the UTC date of reference, the latitude, the longitude.
These data exist by default when the watch is installed with the port of Brest in France.
The tide times are displayed in local time (the time of the watch).
Go to https://stormglass.io/ to get a free API key.
When the latitude or longitude is updated, a request is sent to Storm Glass within about five minutes, please be patient. Then the next request is scheduled for the next morning at 2am. If the query returns an error it is resent every hour until a correct response is received.
This works when the watch is connected to your mobile phone, and the phone is connected to internet.
The status of the requests and the reference port are displayed in the menu "Reference Names" ; "Storm Glass State" and "Storm Glass Station" sub-menus.
The second time zone is set on the phone with the zone code, and the offset entered with a decimal number. Example: -3.45 for -3 hours 45 minutes, 6.3 for +6 hours 30 minutes.
NOTE TOUCH SCREEN
In text, date, color, number screens:
- Back button, or swipe right, to exit without saving.
- Select button, or tap the white mark on green icon, to validate and save the changes.
- Tap on white icon on blue to delete text and number entry.
- For text and colors, up and down buttons, or swipe up and bottom, to change the screen page.
NOTE COORDINATES
Latitude and longitudes must be entered as decimals, not degree-minute-second.
If it is needed to convert coordinates to decimal, the formula is decimal = degrees + (minutes/60) + (seconds/3600)
If numbers are known with cardinal point:
- NORTH latitude is a positive number.
- SOUTH latitude is a negative number.
- EAST longitude is positive number.
- WEST longitude is negative number.
NOTE TIDE HAND
Tide hand turns clockwise.
The tidal needle is in the blue zone in the ebb, in the green zone in the flood.
Yellow marks are low and high tides.
NOTE FORERUNNER
Forerunner is not geared as Fenix watches, to select a background or a ring color may take time to show on screen. Don't be surprised and be patient as it may take few seconds. Then everything is fine once the watch face displays and it can be used without restriction.
