About

In-activity fueling coach: timed eat and drink reminders, one-press logging with the lap button, and fueling graphs in Garmin Connect. WHO IT IS FOR Built for endurance athletes who already have a fueling target and need to hit it under fatigue: marathon and ultra runners, Ironman and long course triathletes, gran fondo and gravel cyclists, and anyone rucking or hiking long days in the heat. If you are working to 60 to 90 grams of carbs an hour, the hard part is not knowing the number. The hard part is remembering it at hour four, when your watch says nothing and you are counting on a gel schedule you last thought about in the car park. Most of us solve that with tape on a top tube or an alarm that means nothing by itself. FuelCoach makes the plan part of the activity instead: it tells you when, it takes one button press to log, and afterwards it can show you what you actually took rather than what you meant to take. Sessions under about ninety minutes rarely need any of this, and the app makes no attempt to pretend otherwise. HOW IT WORKS Add FuelCoach as a data field to any activity data screen. • It vibrates and beeps when it is time to eat or drink. • A countdown runs to your next intake, with carbs and fluid totals on screen. Water coaching can be disabled when you want an eat-only field. • Press the lap button when an alert fires and one press logs your configured amounts, for example a 25 g gel or a 150 ml sip. • Skip one and the field re-arms at the next boundary, with the miss visible in your totals. FUELING GRAPHS IN GARMIN CONNECT Every confirmed intake is written into the activity file. No companion app needed. • Session totals for carbs, fluid and sodium. • A cumulative intake curve you can read next to pace and heart rate after the activity. SETTINGS In the Garmin Connect app under Connect IQ, Data Fields, FuelCoach: • Eat and drink intervals accept fractional minutes, for example 22.5 for 22 minutes 30 seconds. Set drink interval to 0 to disable water coaching. • Carbs per intake in grams, fluid in ml, sodium in mg • Lap-button confirmation on or off • Alert tones on or off The display adapts to full-screen and multi-field layouts. Free, no account, works offline.
