How to Use PacePulse
Adding the Data Field
1. On your watch, go to the activity you want to use (e.g. Run)
2. Hold the Menu button (or long press the touchscreen)
3. Go to Activity Settings, then Data Screens
4. Edit a data screen and select PacePulse as one of the data fields
During a Run
PacePulse shows your target cadence and current cadence. It gives you haptic (vibration), audio, or both types of feedback to help you maintain your target cadence.
- LOCKED IN - You're on pace
- SPEED UP - You're below your target
- SLOW DOWN - You're above your target
- TOO SLOW / TOO FAST - You're well outside your target range
Changing Settings
Settings are changed from your phone, not the watch:
1. Open the Garmin Connect app
2. Tap your device (top left)
3. Go to Activities & Apps
4. Find PacePulse and tap Settings
Settings
- Target Cadence (spm) - Your desired cadence per minute (10-220)
- Mode - Adaptive (only pulses when off pace) or Always On
- Feedback Type - Haptic, Audio, or Both
- Sensitivity - How far off pace before feedback kicks in (strict/normal/relaxed)
- Haptic Strength - Vibration intensity: Light, Medium, Strong, or Max
