About

This widget is a 3D matching game. Select groups of 2 or more neighboring cubes of the same color for removal and see the remaining cubes fall down to form new groups of neighboring cubes with the same colors. Rotate the puzzle block in all axes to try find the best strategy to make groups of blocks of the same colors as big as possible for maximizing the score and to eventually clear them all for a big bonus. Controlling the game is done with a combination of touch and button operation: - Swipe slowly left, right, down, up to rotate the block. The longer the swipe the faster the bloc will rotate. Note that swiping right must be done without going too fast or touching the left edge as it will cause the game to go back to the glance. - After swiping, the block will continue to rotate. Tap anywhere to stop the rotation. Pay attention to the rotation direction and when you tap to make it stop on the face you want. - When the block is still (no rotation), tap to select a group of neighboring blocks with the same colors. The number of neighboring blocks will be written on the top and it can help guess hidden blocks. - When a block is selected and there is no rotation, hold on the screen until a white circle is displayed to clear the selected group of cubes. Note that a selection of one cube does not clear. Only a selection of 2 or higher will clear. - While playing, use the up/down key to show the high-score board (not available for Venu series) - While playing, use the menu button (hold 2 sec) to go to the settings. The setting allows you to select a difficulty based on initial puzzle size and number of colors. There is a total of 4 combinations: 3x3x3/2 colors (easiest), 3x3x3/3 colors and 4x4x4 2 colors (medium), 4x4x4/3 colors (hardest). When a configuration is updated the started game will be cleared. - When no more cubes can be removed, the game will display game over with the final score. If a high score has been achieved or the puzzle has been completed, it will also be noted. In this game-over screen, tap will start a new game, swipe up/down will show the high-score board, swipe left will go to the settings and swipe right will exit the widget The scores are computed as follows: - For each cube in the selection removed there is one point per face touching another cube. This means that the smallest 2 cube selection will score 2 points, 3 cubes will score 4 points, a group of 4 cubes in a 2x2x1 configuration would score 8 points but a group of 4 cubes in a 4x1x1 configuration would score only 6 points - if the puzzle is completed (meaning all the cubes were cleared), the final score is doubled. Note however that there is a trade-off between trying to make the most compact blocks for higher scores, which usually will leave a few stragglers, versus clearing a few small 2 cube selections to try to complete the puzzle. A few miscellaneous notes: - Note that not all puzzles have a solution that would clear them. It is however possible to clear some of the hardest 4x4/3 color puzzles even though it may take some practice and some luck to achieve it. - The default setting is set to be the hardest configuration (4x4x4/3 colors), but even the easiest setting can be enjoyable for a shorter or more relaxing gameplay, so don't hesitate to try them all. - The frame rate is around 4 frame/sec and is limited by the capabilities of the watch. The 4x4 puzzles have a smaller frame-rate (around 2 to 3 frames/sec). - The game was only tested on Fenix 7 series actual devices.
