It is the steps you actually walk. Every step you take does two things at once. It sets how fast your mines run that day, from 25% on a day you never leave the sofa to 150% at twenty thousand steps. And it fills your Momentum bag, one minute of banked time for every hundred steps, which you spend wherever you need it most. Build mines, laboratories and drydocks on your homeworld. Research the technologies that unlock real warships. Colonise other planets, send expeditions into deep space, spy on your neighbours, and raid the ones who leave their fleets on the ground. Three things in this game only exist because a real person is walking. Ten Eras that are walked, not bought. Each Era raises the highest level anything on your planet can reach, and the only key is the total distance you have covered. Somebody who plays sixteen hours a day never gets ahead of somebody who walks further. Momentum you decide how to spend. Cut an hour off the shipyard, or pull an attacking fleet in early. One minute out of the bag is one minute off the clock, and it is your call which clock. A fleet you can race. When your ships are in the air, walking brings them home sooner. It works for the attacker and the defender at the same time, which means two real people can end up walking against the same countdown. The watch is where you find out. It shows today's steps, the state of your homeworld, what is under construction, and the one thing that genuinely matters: an alert the moment somebody launches an attack at you, with a single tap to save your fleet.
