PPG Instrument

Instrument for flying PPG (paramotor) with focus on utility and legibility. Open-source project. Actively developed as of August 2022. - Altitude MSL, selectable feet or meters. - Ground speed, selectable km/h or mph. - GPS track, in degrees from true north. - Vertical speed, selectable fpm or m/s. (5 second moving average.) - Distance home and distance travelled, selectable km or mi. - Mission timer. - Local time, selectable 12h or 24h. - Home arrow referenced to GPS track. (with the watch oriented with the direction of flight, and if you are not turning, the arrow will point home.) Mission timer and activity recording will start, and home position will be recorded, upon a minimum speed being reached. This speed is configurable. To stop recording and save the activity, close PPG Instrument. Settings menus are available in your device and using the phone app. The device menu can be disabled, to reduce the chance of the display changing accidentally. You can re-enable it using the settings menu in your phone app. Uses the open-source B612 typeface. IF YOUR DEVICE HAS A BAROMETER: It is strongly suggested to set your altimeter to Auto-Cal, or to calibrate it every time before starting PPG Instrument. Otherwise, your altitude reading will probably be wrong. The following devices do NOT have a barometer: Forerunner 55, 230, 235, 245, 630, 735, Venu Sq, Approach. Also note that if the ambient temperature or pressure change during your flight (and they most certainly will) then your altitude will drift as well.
