Aero - Cda & Crr estimate
· v1.1.4
About
Hi,
After limited number of users and that Dark Sky is shutting down their weather API I am not sure about the future of this app. If you know about other accurate weather providers like Dark Sky, please send me a message!
Still, some users of the app have been able to see some accurate estimations, but they are somewhat limited by the weather, wind, etc. and there are a lot of variables at play when estimating in "real" time. Having a pitot tube measuring wind speed would probably be the optimal, but I have not been able to find any Bluetooth/Ant+ pitot tubes for sale.
If another accurate weather provider and a wireless pitot tube exists in the marked, I will definitely revisit this concept of estimating Cda/Crr, since the whole estimation seems to be narrowed down to these factors.

The terminology aerodynamics is pretty commonly used nowadays in the cycling industry. The main purpose of this app is being able to calculate the aerodynamic drag (Cda) and the rolling resistance (Crr) on the fly while cycling outside. Thereby the ability to test equipment and see improvements out on the open road. I am trying to get the estimates as accurate as possible by getting weather data from the web, which is the reason I had to make a subscription service. There are now two subscriptions available, a basic plan and a premium plan. The basic plan gives the possibility to update the weather every 15 minutes up to 3 hours each day and the premium plan is every 10 minutes up to 4 hours each day.
So, what are you waiting for? Lets see how fast your new position is and post your data in the reviews!
Remember that the results may wary based on the conditions outside. The Android app may also drain battery from your phone by the constant Cda and Crr calculation. The Connect IQ App is made to be as lightweight as possible, hence the minimal user interface.
Feel free to contact me if a problem occurs or if you have some feature requests :)
