About

TIDE turns hydration and caffeine into two numbers you can act on. One tap to log — or dial it in. Pick a category with UP/DOWN (water, coffee, tea, energy drink, alcohol, medication, L-theanine), press START to log the amount you logged last time. Need a half portion, an espresso, or a big bottle instead? Press MENU to adjust the exact mL and mg with UP/DOWN before confirming — the adjusted amount becomes the new default for that category next time. A caffeine curve, not a counter. TIDE models how caffeine leaves your body over the day and shows the projected level at your bedtime. Instead of "you had 3 coffees", you get doses in milligrams that you can act on now. Three numbers in one unit. The caffeine page reads the curve three ways, all expressed as milligrams if you drink them now. SLEEP is the most you can have without your projected bedtime level crossing the threshold this model is built on. WAKE is how much more it would take for your projected level to reach the range at which alerting effects are usually reported — it reads OK when you are already there. FLOOR is how far you are below half of your own 14-day average intake, the level around which withdrawal symptoms are commonly described; it is a target for the rest of the day rather than for this minute, so it is labelled BED. Nothing here is a fixed rule of thumb: all three are recalculated from your own log at the moment you look, so they move with the hour. When the corridor closes. WAKE and SLEEP are a lower and an upper bound on the same axis, so you read them together — any dose between the two satisfies both. Late in the day they cross: the dose that would reach the alerting range no longer leaves your bedtime level under the threshold. TIDE marks this by inverting both lines, and says nothing beyond that. The decision stays yours. Reminders only when they mean something. TIDE does not nudge you on a timer. It speaks up when the amount you still need would require drinking uncomfortably fast before bed, and when your caffeine cutoff is 30 minutes away. Three notifications a day at most. Nothing while you are asleep. Reminders you can feel. Each kind of reminder has its own vibration pattern, so you can tell them apart without looking: drinking too fast, the water deadline, the caffeine cutoff. While the app is closed TIDE cannot vibrate on its own — Connect IQ does not give a background service access to the vibration motor, and no app can work around that. So when a reminder is worth your attention, TIDE also asks the watch to open itself: a prompt appears on your wrist, and answering it opens the app, which buzzes for whatever you have not seen yet today. A silent notification is posted either way. Fix mistakes on the watch. A log page lists today's records so you can delete the wrong one. Your goal, from your profile. The daily target comes from the weight and sex in your Garmin profile, and the caffeine timing uses your configured sleep schedule. Optional sync. If you run your own server, set a URL and token in the app settings and TIDE will post your entries there. Left empty (the default), TIDE never uses the network and works entirely on the watch. Glance view included: today's total, pace, and how much caffeine you can still have. --- TIDE is a logging and planning tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for advice from a healthcare professional. Every number it shows is an estimate from a population-average model and cannot account for individual variation.

What's new

REMINDERS NOW REACH YOU WITH THE APP CLOSED Connect IQ does not let a background service vibrate — a platform restriction no app can work around. Until now that meant a closed TIDE could only post a silent notification, and whether it buzzed was entirely up to your watch's notification settings. Easy to miss. TIDE now also asks the watch to open itself when a reminder is worth your attention. You get a prompt on the wrist; answering it opens the app, which buzzes for whatever you have not seen yet today — the drinking-too-fast warning, the water deadline, or the caffeine cutoff, each with its own pattern. Nothing about when TIDE speaks has changed. The prompt only appears on the ticks that were already going to notify you: still at most three reminders a day, still nothing while you are asleep, still silent when your pace is fine.
