About

Zeitnot turns your watch into a chess clock. Lay it on the table, white on top, black below, and tap your own half when you have moved. No phone, no box of batteries, nothing to forget on the way to the club. The two halves are literally white and black, so you always see whose clock is running. A thin ring along the edge shows how much of the starting time each player has left. Under twenty seconds the digits turn red and count in tenths, and your wrist buzzes at one minute and at ten seconds. WHAT IT DOES - 17 presets from bullet to classical: 1+0, 3+2, 5+3, 10+5, 15+10, 25+10, 90+30 with 30 extra minutes after move 40, and more - Custom time control, with a different time for white and black if you want a handicap game - Fischer increment, Bronstein delay and simple (US) delay - Move counter per side and a second time period that kicks in automatically - Time-pressure warnings by vibration, tenths of a second under 20 s - Flag fall with a clear red flag and a long vibration - Pause with the top button, undo an accidental press, swap sides - Game summary: moves, time used, average per move, longest think - A game in progress survives closing the app - English, Dutch, German, Spanish and French WHAT IT NEEDS A touchscreen watch. Tap the half you are playing on to pass the move.
