OmniBandBridge — Metabolic Power & Treadmill
· vrelease 1.0
About
OmniBandBridge — the on-watch companion data field for the OmniBandBridge phone app.
Add this data field to any native activity (treadmill run/walk, outdoor run/walk) and it links your watch with the OmniBandBridge app on your phone, in BOTH directions:
- It streams your watch's live metrics (heart rate, speed, cadence, distance) to the phone.
- It shows and records the values OmniBandBridge sends back:
• MEP — your personalized Metabolic Power (W)
• Treadmill speed (km/h) and incline (%), when a treadmill sensor (FTMS) or manual entry is connected in the app.
Everything received is written into your activity's FIT file via developer fields, so your saved Garmin Connect activity keeps MEP and the treadmill speed/incline — data the watch can't measure indoors.
Why it's useful:
OmniBandBridge turns compatible band/footpod sensors into a full training ecosystem built around a personalized metabolic power model. This data field brings that power number onto your wrist during the workout — and into the FIT afterwards — even on watches without a "Virtual Run" activity.
Requirements:
- The OmniBandBridge app on your Android phone.
- Garmin Connect Mobile installed, with your watch paired.
- Start a native activity and add this field to a data screen.
Privacy: the field only exchanges data with the OmniBandBridge app on your own phone, relayed through Garmin Connect. No accounts, no cloud.
