About

**Keep your bike in perfect condition — right from your Garmin Edge.** MechLog is a local maintenance log for your bicycle components. It tracks distance-based wear for every part you care about — chain, cassette, tires, brake pads, cables, and more — without requiring a phone, internet connection, or subscription. Everything runs directly on your Edge device. Your data stays on the device. --- ### What MechLog does **Component wear tracking** Add your components and set a distance limit. MechLog counts every kilometer and shows you how much life is left. When a component is approaching its limit, it flags it so you can act before something breaks mid-ride. **Indoor / outdoor split** Riding a trainer? MechLog knows which components wear indoors and which only wear outdoors. Chain and trainer cassette tick down on indoor rides. Outdoor-only tires and brake pads don't. **Service history** When you replace a part, MechLog writes a service event, resets the component counter, and starts a fresh lifecycle — without deleting the old history. You always have a full record of what was replaced and when. **Manual corrections** Made a mistake or installed a used component? Apply a distance correction with a reason. Every adjustment is logged for auditability. **Multiple bikes** Manage up to 10 bikes from a single app. Each bike has its own components, distances, and service history. Switch active bike with a single tap. **Works offline, always** No Bluetooth required. No phone pairing. No cloud sync. All data is stored locally on the device and persists across restarts. --- ### Supported component types Chain · Road cassette · Trainer cassette · Rear tire · Front tire · Rear brake pad · Front brake pad · Rear disc rotor · Front disc rotor · Shift cable · Brake cable · Bottom bracket · Derailleur pulleys · Bar tape · Shifters · Headset · Sensor battery · Derailleur battery · Carbon fork · Custom (any component you define) --- ### How to use 1. Open the app on your Edge device. 2. Add your bike and name it. 3. Add your components — choose type, set a distance limit, enter current distance if the part is already used. 4. After each ride, enter the distance manually. 5. MechLog updates all relevant components automatically based on ride mode (outdoor / indoor). 6. When a component hits its limit — replace it and log the service event. ### Privacy MechLog collects no personal data. No analytics, no telemetry, no network requests. All data lives exclusively on your device. #More interface languages coming soon. A version without limits is in development.
