About
QueeNie 1.0 — first release
An art deco watch face in onyx and champagne gold, built from a single design
document and implemented for 32 Garmin devices.
TWO DECO DIALS
Deco Digital pairs large Poiret One numerals with a sunburst field, a crown
ornament, and one configurable data line. A split rim gauge tracks two things at
once: steps run down the left side in gold, Body Battery climbs the right in the
theme accent, separated by a 6 degree gap at twelve and six o'clock.
Deco Analog gives you gold skeleton hands with pearl inlays and a counterweighted
seconds hand, over a guilloche dial with a stepped deco chapter ring, tapered
batons at the quarters, 48 minute ticks, and a deco fan at six. The outer gold
ring reads watch battery and closes into a complete circle at 100%.
SIX ONYX THEMES
Onyx & Gold, Emerald, Sapphire, Burgundy, Copper and Teal Noir.
The gold never changes. Champagne gold is the structural colour - rings, hour
batons, ornaments, hands - and it stays constant across all six themes. Only the
background halo and the accent shift. That is why the six read as one design
family rather than six recolours of the same dial.
TWELVE METRICS
Steps, Calories, Distance, Floors, Intensity Minutes, Heart Rate, Body Battery,
Stress, Battery, Notifications, Weather and Move Bar. Put any of them in the
centre line of the digital dial, or in either slot of the analog one. Each
carries its own drawn icon and a progress bar scaled to a real goal where Garmin
provides one.
ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY
On AMOLED watches the always-on mode redraws the time as outlines on pure black,
so the pixels inside each numeral are genuinely off. No seconds, no ornament, no
filled areas. Measured at 2.42% of dial pixels lit on the digital layout and
2.83% on the analog one - 0.45% and 0.42% once weighted by luminance.
EVERYTHING CHANGES ON THE WATCH
Theme, layout, the digital dial's centre line, both analog slots and the seconds
hand can all be changed from the watch face settings menu. No phone required.
TUNED PER SCREEN, NOT MERELY SCALED
32 devices across nine screen sizes, from 208 px to 466 px. There is not a single
pixel literal in the layout code - every position is a fraction of screen width
derived from the design document's CSS box model, and the font assets are
generated from those same constants. Type sizes have measured readability floors
per typeface, and every row is verified against the chord of the inner ring at
its own height, on all nine screen families.
PERMISSIONS
Sensor History only, for Body Battery and Stress. Nothing else is requested.
