Astral draws a live astrological chart on your wrist. The planets sit at their true positions in the sky right now, each at its own degree around the zodiac wheel, and each marked the moment it turns retrograde. Behind them the aspect web threads the geometry of the hour, the trines, squares and oppositions between the planets, drawn faint where they pass behind the clock so the time always reads. At the centre sit your big three: Sun sign, Moon sign and Rising.
The positions come from a real ephemeris, computed on the watch and refreshed through the day, correct to the degree that decides a sign. Set the wheel orientation to Chart view and it rotates until your Ascendant sits at nine o'clock, on the eastern horizon, the way a natal chart is drawn.
Read it your way. Symbols draws the classical planet and sign glyphs an astrologer expects. Icons and names draws each planet as a shaded sphere, Saturn keeping its ring, and labels the signs, so the wheel reads even if you have never learned a glyph. Icons and full names spells them out. The zodiac ring is yours too: twelve sign glyphs, or twelve constellations drawn as their real star patterns. Choose the seven classical planets or all ten.
Fourteen metallic finishes set the whole chart in one move: Celestial Gold, Moonlight Silver, Nebula Violet, Rose Quartz, Deep Teal, Sapphire, Copper, Emerald, Crimson, Amber, Ice White, Orchid, Steel and Champagne. Each is an engraved-astrolabe skin on a true-black screen, and every sign glyph stays lit in its own element's colour.
Around the chart sit the time, the date, and a drawn moon showing tonight's phase. Below them an almanac strip turns over by the minute, naming the Sun's degree and sign, or an aspect running between two planets. The utility rail beneath carries two optional readouts, from a deep catalogue of health, activity and weather metrics. Leave them off and the chart stands alone, which is how it ships. Cues for alarm, notifications, do not disturb and Bluetooth appear only when there is something to say.
The always-on display is the chart reduced to its outline. The zodiac band keeps its twelve houses and constellations in dim starlight, with the house the Sun is in picked out brighter. The planets hold their true longitudes and the Moon still carries tonight's phase. It is burn-in safe by design, and yours to configure: which bodies stay lit, what else stays on screen, which cues persist, how large the clock reads and what colour it takes.
Everything is drawn crisp and anti-aliased on the watch itself, and everything is set from the watch face settings in the Garmin Connect IQ app.
What's new
V1.0.0 - Astral is new. A real, live astrological chart on your wrist: every planet at its true longitude with retrograde marks, the aspect web behind the clock, and your Sun, Moon and Rising in the centre. Chart view rotates the wheel to put your Ascendant on the horizon like a natal chart, symbols or drawn-sphere planets, a rim of sign glyphs or real constellations, the seven classical bodies or all ten, fourteen metallic palettes, optional metric readouts, and a burn-in-safe always-on that draws the whole zodiac band in starlight with the Sun's house lit and the Moon true to phase.
