About

JUST TACTICAL V2 — Tactical Data Watch Face A highly configurable tactical watch face packed with weather, sensor graphics, and fully customizable data fields. Designed for AMOLED and MIP displays across 48 devices. WEATHER — GARMIN OR OPENWEATHERMAP (OWM) Every weather field comes in two flavours so you choose your source per field: Garmin (built-in, no setup) or OpenWeatherMap. To enable OWM, you need an OpenWeatherMap subscription: sign up at openweathermap.org, subscribe to the One Call API (a free tier is available), then paste your API key into the settings. OWM unlocks extra data Garmin doesn't provide — UV index, air quality (AQI), dew point, visibility, wind gusts, cloud cover, precipitation probability, pressure, and moon rise/set. Both providers can be used side by side: pick "Temperature (Garmin)" for one field and "UV (OWM) + AQI" for another. The big weather icon and condition field also let you choose Garmin or OWM independently. Colored PNG icons or a font-glyph style are both available. LOCATION / CITY The Location field shows your current city name. It's resolved by OWM reverse geocoding from your GPS position (requires an OWM subscription/API key and a recent GPS fix), refreshed on the schedule you set (default 15 min). City names are automatically transliterated to plain ASCII in the background, so places with special characters (s, t, u, e, etc.) display cleanly. Coordinates are also available as decimal Lat/Lon or as MGRS military grid — GPS is captured from the Position API, weather observations, or your last activity. HOURLY WEATHER CHART The top area can display a rich hourly forecast chart (Garmin data): temperature line with gradient fill, clouds, UV, precipitation, wind, and humidity — each toggleable. A daylight bar marks sunrise-to-sunset. An optional theme-color mode paints the temperature line and UV bars in your accent color. SENSOR GRAPHS (LAST 24H) Instead of the weather chart, the top area can show a 24-bar graph of Heart Rate, Stress, Body Battery, or Elevation — pulled straight from SensorHistory, color-coded by zone with min/max labels and a blinking current bar. STEPS-PER-HOUR GRAPH The Steps graph is unique: Garmin only exposes total daily steps, so the face builds an hourly history itself. Once per minute it reads your step count and logs the per-hour delta into storage, keeping a rolling 24-hour ring buffer. At midnight rollover the first hour is measured from zero. Because this logging runs only while the face is active, the graph fills in over time as you wear the watch — it's not instant on first install. FULLY CONFIGURABLE FIELDS Every slot is customizable and numbered top-to-bottom in settings: header, big icon (weather or moon phase), condition row, top graph area, field-under-icon, time-row right, date row, and three bottom fields plus footer. Choose from dozens of data types — HR, resting HR, steps, floors, battery, altitude, pressure, sunrise/sunset, moon data, training status, weekly distances, secondary timezone, and all weather metrics. The date slot can show the standard date, day+month, coordinates, MGRS, location, or training status. THEMES & COLORS 20 built-in themes set background, foreground, icon, and distinct hour/minute accent colors. Or go fully custom with individual color pickers. Selected panels use a subtle theme-tinted background. Optional auto-color highlights values by threshold (battery, HR, AQI). MOON PHASE The big icon can show a real moon-phase image with an accurate shadow terminator computed from your location. OPTIMIZED FOR BATTERY Expensive calls (weather, sun/moon calculations, sensor history) refresh once per minute, while HR, stress, steps and battery stay live every second. A dedicated Always-On Display mode keeps burn-in protection on AMOLED. Set your OWM key, pick your fields, choose a theme — and you're ready.
