This project began as a collaboration between Dana (T1D, xDrip+, OpenAPS, Nightscout, Medtronic, Dexcom G6 user) and John (software developer boyfriend). Dana purchased a Garmin watch to replace her many Pebble watches, but just couldn’t find an existing watch face that provided everything she wanted for viewing T1D data. She sketched out her original idea for a Garmin watch face and John brought it to life using the Garmin SDK.
If you enter your URL (or optional token) incorrectly, you may have to wait up to five minutes after fixing it for data to populate as Garmin limits the watch face to one request every five minutes.
Many watches have an extremely limited amount of memory available for requesting data. The majority of development time has been spent making the watch work on these devices. A great description of the problem can be found at https://tynbendad.wixsite.com/garmindexcom/post/garmin-s-dirty-little-secret
