Swim Pace Zone
· v3.1.0
About
Display the Swimming Pace Zone for each lap by calculating it using the Lap Time and the Critical Swim Speed (CSS), instead of Heart Rate (HR).
Using interval time rather than HR to determine training zones is more accurate in swimming, especially for anaerobic or sprint sets.
IMPORTANT:
Make sure to set your CSS in the Settings to ensure accurate readings, and update it regularly based on changes in your fitness or performance level. You can set different CSS values for Pool and Open Water sessions.
TIP: add the data field to your rest screen to view the pace and training zone of your last interval.
Not sure what your Critical Swim Speed is? Try the Garmin CSS Test or search online for other CSS calculators.
The Training Zones are:
- Zone 1: Recovery (CSS-15% and slower)
- Zone 2: Endurance (from CSS-15% to CSS-10%)
- Zone 3: Tempo (from CSS-10% to CSS-5%)
- Zone 4: Threshold (from CSS-5% to CSS)
- Zone 5: Vo2Max (from CSS to CSS+5%)
- Zone 6: Anaerobic (from CSS+5% to CSS+10%)
- Zone 7: Sprint (CSS+10% and faster)
You will find the corresponding training zone and the distance swum in each zone in the Garmin Connect activity summary, both overall and for each lap.
For USA: ability to choose meters or yards. The inserted CSS value is intended in the specified unit measure
