About
This widget is a tile game that is similar to Mahjong. The goal is to remove all pairs to clear the board. Tap on one open tile to select it and tap on a matching available one to clear the pair. Tiles are only available for selection as follows:
- The tile does not have tile overlapping above it
- The tile could be sliding up, left or right to be removed
- Note that the second tile can be made available if the first selected tile would be blocking it otherwise and free it up when removed
The game keeps track of a score which consists of the elapsed time and time penalties for failed attempts as follows:
- first tile valid selection after start or pair removal: no time penalties
- first tile invalid selection: +1sec penalty
- first tile valid selection after prior selection without completing a pair match: +2sec penalty if hints are displayed, +1sec penalty otherwise
- Failed pair matching: +1sec penalty
- Successfull pair matching: +1sec penalty if hints are displayed
Note that each puzzle can be won with the correct pair removal sequence. While it is realtively easy to solve the puzzle, being complacent may results in the puzzle not having any moves left and result in a game over (no scores are the obtained). The top three high scores are stored and tracked over time.
Controlling the game is done with the touch screen and button for some navigation features:
- When the game has been created, tap a tile (it will lift and then tap the matching tile to remove). Tapping back on an already selected tile or outside the puzzle will un-select the first tile
- When the game is completed (either a win or a loss), tap anywhere to start a new game
- Swipe left to access the menu (or press the menu button)
- Swipe right to quit the game (or press the back button)
- Swipe up or down to access the highest score history (or press the next/previous button when available)
The following settings are available:
- Enable or disable hints. When hints are enabled, the number of available moves as well as the number of available pairs for a selected tile are displayed at the top. Note however that the time penalties are more significant for selecting tiles to reflect the advantage of the hints and balance the game diffculty.
