About
This app provides you with high and low tides at your GPS position. You can now also try the new "Tidal Graph" at https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/39248f2e-9f6b-4065-b283-a895520ef853!
The data is retrieved from World Tides (https://www.worldtides.info). Before you can use the app you need to register as a developer (at https://www.worldtides.info/register) and set your API key in the High Tides settings in Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express.
Instructions for setting your World Tides API key:
- Open "Garmin Connect Mobile" on your mobile device
- Click on "More" (on iPhone 3 dots in lower right corner) which opens the full menu
- Choose "Garmin Devices" and select your watch
- Select "Connect IQ Apps"
- Now go to "Widgets"
- If installed you should be able to see and select the "High Tides" widget
- Finally you select "Settings" where you can enter your World Tides API key
What's new
Version 1.22: Bug fix and small enhancements
1. Bug: Fixed the menu bug for FR 230/235 users enabling refresh of the tides.
2. Bug: Might also have fixed the Fenix 3/5 bug enabling scrolling through the tides.
3. Enh: If no more tides are available then tides will be automatically refreshed.
4. Enh: You can now also scroll through the tides by repeatedly pressing the "select" button.
Version 1.21: Added Features
1. Enh: View the tides without having your mobile device or a GPS fix
2. Enh: Store up to 7 days of tidal data
3. Enh: Scroll through the tides to find the high tides for the coming days
How to use it:
- The orange numbers indicate how many tides are still available before or after the 4 displayed.
- Use the "select/start" button to switch to the "scroll" view and use "up/down" buttons to scroll through the tides.
- Use the "back" button to go back to the main screen.
- Use the "menu" button (or hold the "up" button) to show the menu.
- Get tidal data for the current GPS postion with the "Tides at GPS" menu.
- Get new tidal data for the stored GPS position with the "Refresh Tides" menu.
- Clear all stored data (except for the API key) with the "Clear" menu.
Version 1.1: Bug fix and small enhancements
1. Bug: Fixed a bug that crashed the app when less than 4 tides were returned.
2. Enh: If a tidal station is returned the name of the station is shown instead of the GPS location
3. Enh: A smaller font is used if the screen is shorter then 180 pixels (to improve layout on fr920xt)
4. Enh: Device settings for height are used to show tide in meters or feet
