Note the saved game does not affect the watch battery life, it simply uses a very small amount of storage. If you have watch to watch connection issues in the same room, try rebooting the watches. Instructions 1. Start the "Blind Knights" activity from your watch activity page. 2. Select the type of game you want: * Computer: You vs. the watch! Simple single ply chess engine. * Two Watches: Normal chess game with two people using two separate watches. * Blind Two Watches: Blind chess game with another person on a different watch. Blind chess means you don't get to see your opponent's pieces. * One Watch: A normal game of chess on a single watch. 3. For Two Watch games, start the same game type on both watches and then wait for the "Waiting for Connection" banner to go away. 4. Movement: * Cycle through available moves with Up/Down keys (or swiping on some watches). This moves the blue highlight. * Select a piece to move by pressing the Start key. * Select the square to move to using the Up/Down keys. This moves the red highlight, and the piece animates to the destination square. * Move the selected piece by pressing the Start key. * To go back to piece selection mode, press the Back key. * Selecting pieces and moving to squares also works by touching the display on watches that have a touch screen. 5. Exit the game by holding down the Up key to return to the Menu (or Menu key on some watches) or by double pressing the Back key. Gameplay Only valid moves are selectable. Blind chess can be confusing and you will find yourself thinking a move should be valid but the app knows where the pieces are and what the rules are so if you really really think it messed up, convince your opponent to show you their screen. Pawn promotion always assumes Queen. About Blind Chess We used to play blind chess at family gatherings but it was notoriously hard to referee. Playing it on a watch brings back the joy and laughter we shared without the referee saying, "Oh, no! Go back three moves, I messed up!" Blind chess brings together players of all skill levels to use their sleuthing skills in combination with their basic chess knowledge.
