About

WARNING: The app is intended only as an in-flight aid and should not be used as a primary information source. If the app contains a barometric altimeter, it will not function in a pressurized aircraft and should not be used in a pressurized aircraft. --------------------------------------------------------- This version of Flightmeter is compatible with ConnectIQ 2.4. It is the final version using the 2.4 SDK so that it may be used on older devices. If you have a watch that supports ConnectIQ 3.0 and higher please use the current version of Flightmeter: https://apps.garmin.com/de-DE/apps/ce675556-d0dd-44b9-81d0-08120b5a8324 Flightmeter is a small app that I created as a secondary flight instrument for paragliding. It can record the flight (saving the activity as "Flight [City where flown]" and show you your heading [°] (top), speed [km/h] (middle left), glide ratio (middle right) and altitude [m] (bottom). There is wind indicator, indicating out of which direction the wind is blowing. This is visualised using a compass needle. Newest feature is a thermal indicator. Flightmeter shows the flight track of the last minute and indicates the areas of lift with circles. The bigger the circle, the greater the lift in that location. This "thermal tracker" is automatically shown as soon as you have experienced lift greater than 1m/s. After 30 seconds it switches back to the normal screen. This feature can be deactivated in the settings menu. VAHR only: In the bottom row from left to right it shows the current time, the temperature and the elapsed flight time. Flightmeter also vibrates shortly for every meter altitude gained. This can be deactivated in the settings menu as well (long press right button on VAHR, up button on most round watches). Autostart: the app starts recording as soon as speeds higher than 10km/h are reached (e.g. after launch). All menu settings are turned to "on" when you start the app for the first time. Since versions 1.5.0 changes in the menu remain set, even after closing the app and starting it again. So if you don't like to have the automatic showing of the thermals, or the vibrating for hight gained or the auto-start feature, you can turn these of in the settings. Currently the app is mainly designed for the VAHR, therefore the Interface on all round watches is not 100% symmetrical. Any feedback is highly appreciated. Please use the "contact the developer" button if you want to give feedback on improvement topics. If you like the app please be so kind to leave a rating in the store.
