About

Know when you're about to blow up—before it happens. Never Bonk Again is a real-time race pacing tool that shows how close you are to your physiological limits, so you can make better decisions when it matters most. No guesswork. No post-ride analysis. Just real-time clarity. Learn what NeverBonkAgain does in this video: https://youtu.be/MVjY6wzma6o During your ride, Never Bonk Again displays a simple, easy-to-read data field that turns your effort into actionable insight: ENDURANCE INDEX (Below FTP) Shows how much of your sustainable capacity you’ve used. Helps you avoid building fatigue that quietly ruins your finish. SPRINT INDEX (Above FTP) Tracks how much high-intensity effort you have left. Helps you decide when you can attack and when you need to hold back. CRITERIUM MODE (Built for racing) When enabled, Criterium Mode focuses entirely on your high-intensity capacity (W′ and lactate) and displays it as a large, easy-to-read bar across the entire field, along with your remaining matches. Each match represents a short, maximal effort (approximately 10 seconds at about 2x your FTP). This allows you to instantly see how many efforts you have left, even during sprints, attacks, and repeated surges, without distraction. Ideal for criteriums, aggressive group rides, and races with constant accelerations. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN IN A RACE: Avoid blowing up late by managing fatigue before it becomes irreversible Time your attacks with precision Know exactly how many hard efforts you have left Handle repeated surges without guessing Make pacing decisions based on your body, not just power numbers WHY IS THIS DIFFERENT Most cycling metrics like average power, normalized power, intensity factor, and TSS summarize what you have already done. Never Bonk Again shows what that effort is doing to you in real time. It models how fatigue actually builds during a race by combining muscular fatigue, lactate accumulation, W′ depletion, and environmental factors like temperature and altitude. PERSONALIZED DATA ANALYSIS Unlike standard metrics that use the same formulas for everyone, Never Bonk Again adapts to you. The model learns from your performance and adjusts key factors over time, producing more realistic fatigue tracking, more accurate limits, and more useful race decisions. FREE AND LICENSED VERSIONS Free Version Displays the Endurance Index, Sprint Index, and Matches Left using standard factors, providing immediate and useful race guidance. Licensed Version Adapts calculations to your individual physiology and records advanced data in Garmin Connect, helping you better understand and improve how your body responds to effort over time. Get a license here: www.neverbonkagain.com While “bonking” is often associated with glycogen depletion, riders experience performance collapse for many reasons. Never Bonk Again focuses on the muscular and biomechanical drivers of fatigue, helping you manage effort in real time so you don’t reach your limit. If you race and want to push your limits without crossing the line and blowing up, give Never Bonk Again a try. VERY IMPORTANT This data field requires a Power Meter and Heart Rate Monitor. It will not work without these sensors. Get the user manual here: https://www.neverbonkagain.com/_files/ugd/63af6e_1963b125a9d144a584a634178de49fdf.pdf Very important: rider data matters Never Bonk Again is science-driven. Accurate rider data is critical for reliable predictions. This app requires: FTP Max Heart Rate Resting Heart Rate 5-minute Max Power 2-minute Max Power Why Critical Power (CP) is essential For Never Bonk Again to be accurate, having a reliable Critical Power (CP) value is key. CP defines the boundary between sustainable effort and intensity that rapidly drains you

What's new

CR 2.0 - Main index lay out update now includes a center bar that shows current burn rate. The bar increases in size according to effort prodices and is color coded to show revocery efforts (green), endurance effort (red) and efforts above critial power (purple) Watch the features update video here: https://youtu.be/KCikD1KAhEI?si=EPU6fP3DnGV_TjOI CR1.8 and 1.9 Added compatibility with these Garmin Edge Devices enabled the feature that saves charts to the Garmin Connect site 530, 540/540 solar, 830, 840 / 840 solar CR1.7 Minor bug fix CR1.5 (April 16 2026) -enabled "mateches left" in Criterium mode. 1 match = 10seconds at twice your FTP. The field shows you how many efforts of 10 secs at 2xFTP you have left in your W prime. CR1.5 (April 15 2026) - Added a "Criterium" mode in the settings. This mode displays only the anaerobic depletion using the entire field for easy viewing while racing. - Simplified the license verification code to support older Garmin devices. CR1.3 ans CR1.4 - Corrected bug that could prevent the field from writing to the Garmin charts. CR1.2 -Removed Beta from the application's name CR1.1 - First Commercial release. - License is required to manage personalized factors - Decouplig is reported to Garmin Charts as on/off instead of numeric. - Personalized factors are now calculated and updated during rides instead of after. previous versions Made Bonk warning less aggressive - Bonk warning is triggered after 7 minutes of confirm Cardiad decoupling, instead of 2 minutes. - Bonk confirmation is triggered after 12 minutes instead of 5. - Decoupling monitoring starts earlier now, after 2 minutes instead of 5. - Now you can reset the personalized factors from the settings screen. When you update your personal physiological markers like FTP, Max Powers and HR you must reset the personalized multipliers. - The app now calculates and adjusts your personalized factors realtime during your ride/races so that the indices reflect your current conditioning. Changes to the personal factors are displayed on the same datafield at the end of your ride. - Updated HR Decoupling Bonking algorithm using Z2 Heart Rate and Z2 power as bottom limiters - Indices are now displayed in graphical form using separate progress bars for Endurance fatige and Sprint fatigue. - App now warns thr rider when he/she is getting close to depleting Endurance or Sprint capabilities and recomends a target power output to recover. - please use the "contact developer" link to give us your feedback .
