About

BLACKSITE IFF is a dark technical watch face built natively for the 280 x 280 memory-in-pixel display in the fēnix 8 Solar 51 mm and tactix 8 – 51 mm Solar. Its RC17j C22 system combines woven time digits, seconds and aircraft marker, date, weather and atmosphere instrumentation, a selectable center portal, fixed side metrics, a six-field grid, solar timing, and A22 identity. FIXED OPERATIONAL LAYOUT • Date is permanently centered between the upper linework. • Upper-left flank is current condition; upper-right flank is battery. • Left weather shows today’s high/low above current RealFeel. Right weather shows pressure/trend above wind speed/direction. • Top arc is humidity, left arc is precipitation chance, and right arc is UV. Unavailable values fail closed as --. • Clock-side compartments show stress left and respiration right, with icon and value centered as a group. • Lower grid contains heart rate (BPM), seven-day resting-HR average (RHR), steps (STPS), Body Battery (BB%), next solar event, and the BLACKSITE stopwatch. CUSTOMIZATION • 55 direct settings in 12 sections. • Independent MIP-safe colors for text, icons, structure, time, weather, arcs, A22, and the six-slot LCD panel. • Six red LCD-panel fills plus off; option 3 is deep #AA0000 across the full tapered grid. • Optional 8 x 8 basket weave for the face, selected data/icon treatments, clock, A22, and solar rail. • Configurable date/time presentation, portal source, icon sizes, visibility, and treatment choices. The native editor is limited to Style, Accent Color, and Data Color. LIVE DATA AND ACTIONS • Seconds and stopwatch use the one-second display path while Garmin keeps the face active. • Heart rate retains native one-second complication updates. Stress and respiration refresh every 30 seconds on staggered turns; Steps every 5 minutes; Body Battery every 30 minutes; resting HR every 3 hours; and cached Garmin Weather every 15 minutes. • The solar cursor is sampled by minute and redraws only when its integer rail pixel moves. • Stopwatch controls are lower-left start/pause/resume and lower-right reset. Long-press behavior depends on Garmin input support. • The retired face-local countdown cannot mirror Garmin’s native Timer app. Use Garmin’s native timer when guaranteed vibration or a system alarm is required. RELIABILITY • Version 1.4.18 R47 retains R46’s hardware-safe contract: every ordinary full-screen update repaints the complete 280 x 280 face, while clipped one-second painting remains exclusive to Garmin’s partial callback. • Repeated clock, seconds, and stopwatch formatting is replaced by cached 00–99 tokens; provider options and fixed geometry are retained instead of rebuilt in the hot path. • A fair 15-second round-robin spreads source work. Rapid heart-rate updates run only in cache-clean fixed-grid positions; low-power mode stops rapid subscriptions and falls back safely to minute-scale work. • Appearance, layout, settings, resources, fonts, icons, colors, weave, LCD treatment, data assignments, and stopwatch behavior are unchanged from R46. • Simulator stress passed 25 hide/show and 25 sleep/wake cycles, midnight rollover, 0/1/100% battery states, charging, and a native-editor Save. Memory showed no growth; the partial callback averaged 2.14712 ms across 25 callbacks. • The signed Connect IQ 9.2.0 two-device package passed 22/22 release checks, exact PRG/settings parity, XML/JSON, debug-source, public signing identity, and RSA-4096 verification. Physical-watch behavior and physical battery life remain separate tests. Provider availability and cadence depend on Garmin device, firmware, sensors, permissions, user mode, and cached data. BLACKSITE IFF processes data on the watch and contains no advertising, purchases, analytics, external account, or developer-operated data service. This independent face is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Garmin or any military or government organization.

What's new

1.4.19 R48 system-cache optimization: • Caches battery-days, alarm-count, Do Not Disturb, and solar-intensity values outside draw-reachable helpers. • Preserves R47’s complete ordinary repaint and bounded partial-update behavior. • Preserves the approved visual defaults, settings contract, application identity, and supported fēnix/tactix Solar 51 mm targets. • Adds no runtime-loaded icon family and makes no default appearance change.
