Reverse Pacer (Eindhoven / Comrades)
· v1.1
About
I wrote this app specifically to pace the Eindhoven Marathon, later I learned that also the Comrades race has board mileage signs at the side of the road counting downwards (after 195 meters you'll see a sign 42k to go, etc...). This app helps in pacing these race and to synchronize the distance at the mileage boards (even though the mileage boards are placed in "reverse") .
The major differences with the "normal" pacer apps:
- The distance on the watch will start at the race length and counts downwards. When running further than the goal distance the distance will display as a negative number (eg 43k will display as -0.8).
- Auto lapping is done in reverse. (eg: In the metric system a marathon is 42195 meters. Supposing a lap size of 1000 meter this means that the first (auto)lap will be the shortest lap (only 195 meter) as there will be 42 laps following of 1000 meter. )
- Distance correction is done in reverse (eg: in a marathon after running 1k it'll state on the watch 41.2k, pressing the lap button will change the displayed distance to 41k (and change the internal stored distance to 1.2k - NOTE: that this will not tamper with the recorded distance, this remains based on the gps distance and is measured by Garmin's internal systems))
Button key functionalities;
- up/down key: change target speed on the fly to set yourself a new goal
- lap key: execute a distance correction (synchronize the distance on the watch with the mileage board on the side of the road)
- lap key again within 30 seconds: uncorrect the distance correction
What's new
* Check out my other apps: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/developer/bd929e5f-ba13-4cd6-9c55-ca9ba71bed83/apps
* The Reverse Pacer app is an app for a very special case, for normal races (where the distance counts upwards instead of downwards) take one of my other pacer apps instead.
