About
NOTE: To avoid issues with sensors, try to connect all of your sensors using ANT
This data field shows the battery level of all your connected cycling sensors in one place, with color-coded bands (green/yellow/orange/red) so you can spot low batteries at a glance.
Supported sensors:
Power Meter -- Battery percentage read over BLE. For dual-sided power meters, the secondary side reports through the primary side, so a single battery percentage is displayed representing the lowest level. If BLE is unavailable, falls back to ANT+ battery status. Displays device name when available.
Electronic Shifting -- Battery via ANT+ (SRAM, Campagnolo) or via BLE (Shimano Di2). For SRAM/Campagnolo, per-component status is shown (main/left/right derailleur). For Shimano Di2, battery percentage is read over Bluetooth LE since Garmin does not expose Di2 battery through the ANT+ shifting API.
Rear Light / Varia Radar -- Battery status of your Garmin Varia radar/tail light. Optionally shows the current light mode and approaching vehicle alerts.
Front Light -- Battery status of your front light connected via the Garmin light network. Optionally shows the current light mode.
Heart Rate Monitor -- Battery percentage read over BLE.
Cadence Sensor -- ANT+ battery status.
Speed Sensor -- ANT+ battery status.
Garmin Device -- Your head unit or watch battery percentage, with a charging indicator (+).
Rear light, front light, cadence, and speed sensors use the standard Garmin ANT+ API and report battery status continuously without any special scanning.
How battery scanning works (HR, Power Meter, Di2): When the activity starts, the app performs a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) scan to read battery percentages from your HRM, power meter, and Di2 shifter. This scan runs over BLE, which is completely independent from the ANT+ connections your Garmin device uses for heart rate, power, and other sensor data. Your sensor data is not interrupted during the scan.
Each sensor gets up to 45 seconds to connect and read battery data. The sensors are scanned one at a time (HRM first, then power meter, then Di2). After the battery is read, the BLE connection closes. The HRM battery refreshes approximately every 20 minutes; power meter and Di2 battery refresh approximately every 2 hours.
Important settings:
Rescan BLE Sensors: The app remembers your BLE sensor names (HRM, power meter, Di2) after the first successful scan and uses them to quickly reconnect on future activities. Enable this option if you've replaced a sensor or the app is not finding the correct device -- it clears the stored names and forces a fresh discovery on the next activity start. The option automatically resets after use.
Debug Mode: Shows raw sensor data, connection states, and BLE scan details for troubleshooting.
Tested with: Favero Assioma (dual-sided), Garmin HRM-200, Garmin Varia RTL515, Garmin Speed Sensor.
