FULL GUIDE WITH SCREENSHOTS: https://www.petrrezek.net/en/garmin/recap/#guide ENJOYING RECAP? BUY ME A COFFEE: https://buymeacoffee.com/petrrezek Your watch only remembers about 7 days of activity history, and yearly recap summaries are normally a subscription feature. Recap fixes both directly on the watch: it snapshots your activity day by day into on-watch storage and builds its own week, month and year summaries — no subscription, no account, no phone, no server. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS • everything is computed and stored on the watch — the only connection ever made is the anonymous Recap Plus license check • no subscription needed to see your own totals THREE FULL-SCREEN PAGES — START BUTTON OR TAP • LAST 7 DAYS — big step count, distance, calories, floors and active minutes, plus 7 per-day bars with your step goal drawn as a dashed line, so a missed day shows how close it was (accent = goal met, the same colour held back = missed, white = today) and a 5-of-7 goal score • THIS MONTH — totals, the daily average, and the weeks of the month as bars with your goal line across them • THIS YEAR — totals, your best day with its date, and all twelve months as bars; an honest SINCE tag when tracking started mid-year CONTROLS • START or tap — next page: 7 days → month → year → (Recap Plus: trends → wellness week → wellness month → recovery) → back to 7 days • DOWN or swipe up — one period older; UP or swipe down — one period newer, or one page back once you are at the current period; the ‹ › chevrons show where more history is • BACK — the first press returns to the current period, the second closes the widget • hold MENU (UP), or touch and hold the screen — settings on the watch • on vívoactive 6, Venu 2 and D2 Air X10 a right swipe means "back"; on epix (Gen 2) and Descent G2 a left swipe browses into the past TRENDS (Recap Plus) • twelve weeks on one screen, and the number no other screen shows you: what an average week of yours looks like • DOWN zooms out to twelve months, UP comes back to the weeks • your best week or month sits at the bottom, with its date • steps by default, or distance, active minutes, calories or floors in the settings WELLNESS + RECOVERY PAGES (Recap Plus) • wellness week, wellness month and recovery • resting heart rate as the headline, with stress, SpO2 and Body Battery daily ranges • average recovery time, breathing rate, max heart rate and 7 daily bars of recovery load • 14-day free trial for every install, then a one-time unlock at https://kzl.io/code (the watch shows a short code) — no subscription, no account. The trial is there to try Plus out; the unlock is a one-time purchase and is not refundable HOW IT WORKS • background sync every 4 hours plus on every open — days are never missed, even if you never open the widget • storage grows about 2 kB per month; years of history fit GLANCE • live steps today with a TODAY tag, plus 7-day steps and distance, right in the widget carousel SETTINGS AND DESIGN • settings right on the watch: hold MENU, or touch and hold the screen — the same settings also stay in Garmin Connect • text size in three steps — the small labels can grow by up to a third • label brightness in three steps, from quiet gray to near-white • color themes: default trio (one accent per page) or 6 single-color themes • week mode: rolling 7 days or calendar week (first day follows the watch setting) • glow behind the big number in five levels, from off to maximum • km or miles per your watch units; watches without a barometer show BEST DAY instead of floors DEVICES • made for AMOLED watches from 360 px up — fenix 8 and 9, epix 2, Forerunner 165/265/570/965/970, Venu 2/3/4, Venu X1, vivoactive 5/6, Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct Crossover AMOLED, tactix, quatix, MARQ (Gen 2), D2 Air X10/Mach 1/Mach 2, Descent Mk3/G2, Approach S50/S70 and more — 49 devices CONTACT • questions and bug reports: [email protected] 19 languages.

What's new

1.6 - 2026-09-03 - NEW Recap Plus page: TRENDS. Twelve weeks on one screen and, with them, the number no other screen shows you — what an average week of yours actually looks like. DOWN zooms out to twelve months and the page turns blue — there a bar is your average day, so a short February compares fairly with a long March — UP comes back to the teal weeks, and your best week or month sits at the bottom with its date. - The TRENDS page does not have to be about steps: in the settings, under Trends show, you can point it at distance, active minutes, calories or floors instead. - The month page now ends in the weeks of that month, drawn as bars with your step-goal line across them, so you can see which week was strong at a glance. The year page does the same with all twelve months. Prefer the old single number? Settings, Charts on month and year, Numbers. - New setting: Start page. Recap can open on any page you like, or on the last one you were looking at. - UP (or a swipe down) while you are already at the current period now steps back through the pages, so the last page is one press away from the first. - The glow behind the big number finally shows up on Forerunner 165, Forerunner 70, vivoactive 5, Approach S50, Descent G2 and Instinct 3 AMOLED. Those watches never had it. The label brightness setting now also lifts the dimmed bars and the goal line there. 1.5.2 - 2026-09-02 - Touch and hold the screen to open the on-watch settings — now on every touch watch. On vivoactive 6, Venu 4 and Venu X1, which have no MENU button, it is the only way in. - D2 Air X10: the START button now switches pages. 1.5.1 - 2026-08-28 - Fixed a possible crash of the widget glance introduced in 1.5.0. 1.5.0 - 2026-08-26 - NEW: watch-face complications. Recap can now publish today's steps and your 7-day steps to a watch face field, and tapping it opens Recap.
