About

A 1960s measuring instrument on your wrist, with a diver's decompression bezel around the rim. An outer band and three rings, all with printed scales, show how you are right now: today's steps, Body Battery, heart rate and stress. You read them off the graduations, like a real gauge. WHAT IT DOES - Steps around the rim: the outer band has eighteen cells, one per 1000 steps. Cells past your goal turn red, a marker shows the goal itself and a white tick shows where you are now. The band can count floors climbed instead, one cell per floor. - Three rings on printed scales: Body Battery on the second, heart rate on the third with its own 40-180 scale, stress on the inner one. They fill clockwise from twelve. When a reading is unavailable the ring keeps its bare scale. - You choose what each ring shows: Body Battery, stress, watch battery, step goal, floors climbed, Pulse Ox, sleep score, the move bar or solar intensity. The third ring also takes heart rate. - Intensity minutes three ways: today, this week, or the last seven days. This week starts again every Monday, while the seven-day figure always counts back a full week from today. Today's minutes are measured against a seventh of your weekly goal. - Weight towards a target: you enter a starting weight and a target weight in the Garmin Connect app, and the ring shows how far along you are. It works whether you are losing weight or gaining it. - An icon in place of a graduation: each ring carries a small icon of what it measures, and the icon changes with the source. - Third ring, two styles: the ring stays lit the whole way round and a white marker points at the value, moving every second. Or it fills from twelve like the two beside it. - Heart-rate zones: have the 40-180 scale coloured by your five training zones, from blue through green and amber to red. The boundaries come from your Garmin user profile. You switch the colouring on in the settings. - Weather at the top: three temperatures on cream cells, now, in three hours and in six. Below the centre the condition appears as one word in your own language. A cell with no hourly forecast shows a dash. Degrees follow your watch, and you can choose °C or °F by hand. - Minute track: the numerals 05 to 55 around the edge, or bright five-minute marks on their own. Switch it off and the dial spreads into the space, so the rings, the weather cells and the hands all grow. Useful on a watch that already carries the minutes on its bezel. - One data field above the centre with any metric you like, icon and value. You can leave the original lettering there instead. Weekday on the left, date in a window on the right. - Press and hold: whatever you touch opens its own app. A ring opens its metric, the temperatures open the weather, the date opens the calendar and the data field opens its own. - Always-on display: dimmed value arcs, white scale numerals, the hands, the date and the weather word stay on black, easy on the screen. Steel sword hands with luminous inserts and dark outlines, an orange seconds hand with a luminous tip that you can switch off. Eight colourways (Midnight, Harbor, Regatta, Bronze, Emerald, Platinum, Bordeaux, Arctic), and a short or long reveal when you raise your wrist. Everything is drawn on the watch - no account, no phone app.

What's new

Six new readings for the gauge rings: intensity minutes for today, intensity minutes over a rolling last seven days, sleep score, the move bar, solar intensity, and your weight on its way to a target. The starting weight and the target are set in the Garmin Connect app.
