About
GPS-Key automatically opens your underground car park, for example, when you approach it.
The following scenario:
You forget the remote control for the garage in your car again.
You set off on your bike and want your underground car park to open automatically just before you get home.
You have made your garage door smart with a Shelly (or similar) and can address this Shelly via Web API.
You can easily realise this with the "GPS-KEY".
You need:
- a Garmin
- a gate or door made smart with Shelly (or another smart switch)
- you know the URL required to open it.
- the GPS coordinates of this door (you can query these in Google Maps)
- a capture radius from which the door should be opened
the whole thing also works with other switches that can be addressed via WEB API.
Important: Garmin only supports HTTPS web requests!
The connection only works in conjunction with your phone, as an internet connection is required.
You can operate a maximum of three locks in the current version.
SETTINGS: On the phone:
- start Connect IQ
- bottom right: Device
- my device apps
- GPS key settings
- input:
Enable Door
Name
url
Latitude
Longitude
Snap radius
Please send me feedback if something does not work, this is a hobby project.
