About

This is the application which supports my favourite passion - the climbing sport. IMPORTANT NOTE: ONLY FENIX 5X PLUS IS OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED (because I only have this one for the real testing) ALL OTHER WATCHES SUPPORT IS EXPERIMENTAL AND YOU NEED TO BE READY TO ACCEPT THE FACT IT MAY NOT FULLY WORK OR EVEN NOT WORK AT ALL (testing in simulator is far from being sufficient). Sorry for that... The development costs me a lot of time and I have NO profit on it, so not able to buy any more watches to do full testing... It supports - Display of all (IMO) important info on one screen -- HR -- number of daily climbs -- number of per-climb pitches -- net climb duration -- climb elevation -- absolute elevation -- real time -- difficulty in two preselected grades (of frou supported - UIAA, FR, USA, UK) - Multiple pitches per climb - Pausing the climb - Difficulty can be changed anytime during the climb (not just before the climb starts) - During the climb it records -- Start time, finish time -- Altitude gain (units are currently only metric) -- Net climb duration -- Top difficulty -- Burned calories --- Calculated independently on the Garmin (which seems to only calculate the IDLE calories during climbing - I did not get from them any answer to my question "how to override the wrong Garmin calories with my corrected one" yet) -- The same per pitch (if multi pitch climb happens) -- NOTE: Most of it is only displayable in the phone - Menu (long press of the UP button) -- History of the climbs organised per days -- Synchronisation to phone -- Primary and secondary grade to be displayed on the main screen -- Setup of the detection of inactivity during climb (currently does not work very well) -- Deleting of ALL climbing history from the watch - Protection against accidental press of the watch buttons during the climb It currently works on my Fenix 5X Plus plus a few more models with the exactly same screen resolution (240x240) and principle of controlling (3+2 physical buttons, no touch screen). Note, I was able to test it only on my Fenix 5X Plus. I do not plan to support any other models (unless I buy such one much later). Simply because this is not earning any money to me but is really a lot of work... It currently only supports English plus my native language, which is Czech. If anyone is seriously interested, I can provide the resource file for the translation. Garmin Connect mobile App is great for the mainstream sports, like running, cycling, ... BUT very pure in terms of extending towards anything extraordinary like climbing. Therefore I decided to write the companion Android app which synchronizes the data from the Garmin Watch App to the phone and displays some nice statistics and graphs.
