About

Most activity watch faces tell you one number at the end of the day. This one tells you the shape of the day while you are living it. ONE GAUGE PER HOUR The ring is a twenty four hour ribbon. Midnight sits at the top and the day turns clockwise, so where a bar sits tells you when it happened. Each hour carries a gauge filled by what you did in that hour, in its own dark channel so you read a result against its scale, not a result alone. You see the walk to work, the flat afternoon at a desk, the evening out. A total cannot show you that. A SWIM DOES NOT MAKE A SINGLE STEP The gauge takes whichever is further along, the steps or the active minutes. Your watch counts active minutes from effort, not from stride, so an hour of swimming or cycling fills its gauge even though it produced no steps. Both scales are yours to set. AHEAD OR BEHIND, ALL DAY LONG Under the time, the face works out where you should be by now to finish the day at your goal, and shows the difference. Plus in colour, minus in grey. The pace is spread over your waking hours, not over the night, because counting the night would put everyone behind at breakfast. YOUR NIGHT IS SHOWN, NOT HIDDEN The hours outside your waking window take the opposite colour of the ones inside it. A step taken at three in the morning is not one more step, it is a step of another kind, and the colour says so without a word. The aim reads itself: as many empty night channels as you can, as many full day gauges as you can. FOUR FIELDS, ELEVEN READINGS Steps, distance, calories, active minutes today or this week, floors, battery percent, battery days, notifications, week number, or nothing. Every one of them is permission free. BUILT HONESTLY Garmin gives no hourly figures, only a running daily total, so the face keeps its own history in the watch storage. That means the first day you install it is partial, and it is meant to be. It also means midnight, a watch reset and a first install are all handled explicitly, with tests to hold them. No permissions. No sensors read. No phone connection required. MAKE IT YOURS Four colours, four fields, your hourly scale in steps and in active minutes, your step goal, the hours your day starts and ends, and a coloured time you can switch on. TELL ME WHAT YOU WOULD CHANGE I read every review and I reply. If something bothers you, a colour, a proportion, an option you wish existed, say so and I will look at it.
