About
PaddleWatt estimates your power output in watts using GPS speed — designed specifically for sprint kayakers.
The data field uses a scientifically validated cubic model (P = K × v³) measured on elite sprint K1 paddlers. The automatic wind and current compensation compares your speed on opposing headings and continuously corrects for external forces — without any extra hardware or internet connection.
Features:
Real-time watt estimate based on GPS speed
Automatic wind and current compensation when paddling back and forth
Designed for interval training — rest periods and recovery pace are filtered out
Saves watt data to your activity's .FIT file for post-session analysis
Limitations:
GPS speed introduces an accuracy margin of ±30–40W compared to a physical power meter
Wind and current compensation activates after the first turnaround point
On one-way open water paddles, uncorrected watt is displayed
No additional sensors or heart rate belt required.
