NightscoutWatch2 NS xDrip+ CGM watchface
· v0.2.13
About
----------------- Disclaimers, please read:
- CGM App is not intended to serve as or to replace the real-time display of CGM data of the primary device or standard blood glucose home monitoring. All therapeutic decisions, including those regarding calculating insulin or other drug dosages, should be based on blood glucose measurements obtained from a blood glucose meter and not on data from the CGM App.
- The CGM app is not intended to analyze, interpret, or modify the CGM data received from the primary device.
- The CGM App is not intended to replace self-monitoring practices as advised by a physician.
--------------------------------------------------
(Note: the wording, "a blood glucose meter", is from Garmin directly - In my opinion I believe they meant to say "approved therapeutic device" instead, in case you are using a CGM approved for dosing.)
CGM watchface that uses ConnectIQ 2 background API to fetch CGM data from your personal Nightscout site, or a local web service from xDrip+, Spike, DiaBox, or OpenAPS rig.

Please send feedback via the Connect IQ app "App Support" button. *** Please do not post questions in reviews, they will not be answered as they cannot be edited. ***
----------------- Further disclaimers:
THIS APP MUST NOT BE USED TO MAKE MEDICAL DECISIONS.
There is no warranty for this program.
This app is not supported or endorsed by Dexcom, Abbott, Libre, Medtronic, Nightscout, or any other party.
--------------------------------------------------
FYI:
- Make sure the Connect IQ app on your phone is able to stay active and using data in the background - there are usually system settings on your phone that allow that, for both battery and mobile data.
- Be sure to have your watch setting for "Time Source" set to "Auto" (and not "Manual"), to ensure the watchface can sync up properly to the CGM data.
- If using mmol units with Nightscout, make sure your site's configuration variable DISPLAY_UNITS is set to mmol (and not mmol/L). Small memory devices will also need to set BG display mode to mmol in watchface settings.
- There are no tone or vibration alerts possible in Garmin watchfaces, watchface notifications are on the display only.
- Watchface will attempt each interval's load from the online URL first (if set), and if it can't be reached then offline URL.
- If using a Libre 3 or other CGM which gives readings every minute (vs every 5 minutes), change the app setting "Seconds past each 5 minutes of time to refresh BG data" to 0 (or up to 59) to get more consistent updates.
- Monitor status codes show which info is available and being monitored.
- Error status code and data is shown only when info is available and in error state, as noted.
Monitor/Error status code key:
* BT = bluetooth is not connected between Garmin device and phone
* BLE = bluetooth was not connected between Garmin device and phone during last data request
* W = watch (Garmin device) battery status is 20% or lower (configurable)
* L = closed loop hasn't run in over 15 minutes
* P = pump is suspended, or battery is 25% or lower, or 1.25v or lower (configurable)
* UP = loop uploader (iPhone or rig) battery is 25% or lower (configurable)
* R = pump reservoir is 20U or lower (configurable)
* CA = cannula age is over 72 hours (configurable)
In addition:
- Elapsed time will be highlighted when BG is over 15 minutes old,
- BG will be highlighted when out of range [70, 240] (mg/dL), or [3.9, 13.3] (mmol) (configurable)
- Date will be highlighted when any phone notifications are waiting, per Connect IQ.
- Loop and pump status are shown when info is available:
* e = eventual outcome (bg) according to prediction from Loop or OpenAPS
* i = IOB
* c = COB
* t = last enacted temp basal
What's new
NOTICE (Nov. 2021): Sometime in the fall of 2021 Dexcom made changes that broke Sugarmate's connection to CGM data. Unfortunately at this time (Nov. 2021) it looks that while Sugarmate may return, its JSON functionality likely will not. To use my Garmin apps you will need either a local webserver (from an app on your phone such as xDrip+ or Diabox), or a Nightscout website.
NOTICE (July 2020): The Fenix 6 has been reported to not work properly with Connect IQ apps using the background API. Please refer to the Garmin forum bug report: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/i/bug-reports/fenix-6-with-background-app-watchface-doesn-t-update
