About

Complex Data Field, that combines important runner values in one convenient screen. Notice: main purpose of this data field is to display smoothed pace and time left to next milestone. Milestones are expressed in kilometers. Latest update added basic conversion of distance, pace and altitude to imperial units according to device settings, but milestones are still expressed in kilometers, this was not changed on purpose according to original design choice and is not subject to change in future. If this approach doesn't fit your training style, then, please, be polite and just pass this data field other than leaving bad review. Warning: although latest version seems pretty stable, It's still recommended to use field for important events only if you already tried it out and found stable enough for your purposes. As before, good way to start activity without any issues is to tap start button to enter activity screen, then wait for a couple of seconds until gps and heart rate indicators start to blink, and only then press start once again to open activity data screens. Screen contains following values: 1st row: battery percent, timer, gps signal strength, 2nd row: next milestone (default values are 5k, 10k, 21k, 42k, can be changed in preferences) time (based on displayed pace), elapsed distance 3rd row: heart rate with percent (heart symbol uses Garmin color scheme for zone designation), current pace, 4th row: altitude/altitude gain (can be set in preferences) with color indicator (white - altitude didn't change since last value, blue - decreased, red - increased), running cadence (indicator color uses Garmin color scheme for zone designation). Trick for those who want clock time instead of milestone finish value: define milestones parameter as 0 (zero without quotes) instead of list of comma delimited values. Garmin Express/Mobile allows to configure following: - select screen background color from black or white; - set milestone time type (time left to milestone, estimated time to milestone, estimated clock arrival time); - define milestones, applicable format is "value, ... ,value", value is expressed in kilometers and can have decimal value, please, note, that there are no checks during this string parsing, if format is incorrect you'll get exception (handling removed to improve memory footprint); - set Heart Rate Values to show zone colors and calculate percent value, applicable values are either one value meaning maximum heart rate (e.g. 182), in this case all zones will be calculated automatically, or you can enter exactly 6 values (e.g. 91,110,128,146,164,182), which represent start of each of five zones plus maximum heart rate; - set pace smoothing interval (valid values are 2 - 60 seconds), any invalid numeric value will force to display raw current pace; - select layout type out of altitude, altitude gain or average pace, take note that altitude differs from what you see in Garmin Connect/Strava etc since watch provides only raw gps/sensor altitude data while on those sites this info is also post-processed using geo values; - option to display/hide labels (improves readability by adding more space around values). Application is and will remain free, but if you feel generous or would like to support my further endevours, don't hesitate to visit paypal.me/EASuvorov or Paypal to [email protected].
