About

This data field is targeted to software developers and engineers and visualizes (in text and graphically) the contents and timing of the ANT+ data streams that are received from up to two Heartrate sensors, Muscle Oxygenation sensors or Power Meters. This can be useful to understand capabilities of specific sensors or details of ANT+ communication. In the screenshots below, for example, in the lower half, the green dots show new data, gray dots repeated data and red dots drops. The standard power-only messages of a pedal-based power meter had slow updates at first due to low cadence but proceeded at 1Hz with data received at 4Hz. HR was consistently received at 1Hz. The SmO2 sensor was set to 2s average mode; the data is indeed updated only every 2s with 7 repeated messages in between. In single sensor mode with PM, this data field shoes in the upper half: red line for power, orange for accumulated power and black for event count. Text and numbers identify ANT data other than standard power-only messages. Note: Apps like this can only connect to sensors that are not "paired" by the device's OS, therefore please unpair first if needed. A more detailed description will follow later.

What's new

Known issues: - There has been a shift in concept since the first version. The current functionality is probably better implemented as an App and not as a data field, which might then for example make it possible to update the display contents more than once per second in sync with the received ANT messages. - The automatic adjustment of vertical range of the graph for power meters seems occasionally wrong. - I am using the millisecond system timer in the ANT message callback to determine timing of the messages - which is not the exact timing of the ANT messages. The timestamp of the ANT message should be used instead but in my testing the timestamp seemed to be inconsistent over time and inconsistent between simulator and actual device.
