Vario Free

Vario Free is a barometric variometer for sailplane soaring, and it is free and complete: no trial timer, no locked features, no account. Climb and sink are read straight from the watch's pressure sensor — never from GPS, so there is no lag and no phantom climb from a wandering satellite fix. A segmented tape shows the instantaneous rate at a glance, readable in sunlight, and a 20-second average tells you how a thermal is really working rather than what it did half a second ago. A Response setting — Fast, Medium or Slow — sets how much the needle is smoothed, so you can trade a steadier reading against a quicker one. Altitude reads in metres or feet, climb in m/s or knots. It asks for no permissions and sends nothing off the watch. The whole app runs offline.
